Engine oil for corolla 1.3

What is the recommended oil for 2016 corolla 1.3 with 61,000 kms. Recently got it serviced from Toyota dealership and they used 20w50. Is this oil recommended at this milage with winters approaching?

Not at all. The recommended oil grade for Corolla's Engine is 5w30, even you can confirm it from the Owner's Manual.
It is not wise to go to a Toyota dealership for regular maintenance.

If its clearly mentioned in the owners manual then why these so-called certified technicians use this oil?

Because they want you to use the oil that's easily available and got good profit margin for them.
You can go to Toyota but from now and onwards use Toyota taglon X 5w30. If you want to purchase a good oil from outside then you can choose havoline 5w30 coz its fully synthetic and api sp

Although Toyota manual recommended oil range includes 20w50 till 5w30. I will refer to manual and confirm back on this. 20w50 is a mineral oil & not good for winters. At this mileage stick with 5w30 from any good brand (Havoline, Total, Liqui Moly, Meguin.. )

I am using 5w30 in 2nzfe and now there is an urge to try 0w20 in it. Should I try it? The car is used only for motorway drive only 3 to 4 times a month.

Recommended oil for 2nzfe is 5w30 or 10w30 only.

0w20 would most likely run butter smooth n improve the average too. Double Check international manuals for this engine.

The recommended oil viscosity for 2NZ-FE 1.3 litre Toyota engine is 5W30 but Toyota Pak had put 20w50 oil in my zero meter Corolla. from that day onwards i have always used 5w30 oil with 17-18 km/lit average on highway and 12-13 km/lit in the city even today with the mileage of 130,000 kms....

you can use heavier 40 weight oil only if your engine is worn to an extent where it consumes oil.. the winters here are not that severe to affect the weather digit preceding W but you can go to 5w30 from 10w30...
