Thats very much impressive 430k kms with 500ml oil consumption (means it has started consuming oil earlier) .....
and i have a PRO-BOX in my Services pool having a mileage of 424000 kms .... and alhamdullilah not consuming oil checked and changed at every 5000 kms ......
Haseeb Bhai!
There will be lot of non ending examples from both sides..... so lets close it like ....
lets stick to the understanding ..... the discussion here should be fruitful and is fruitful i am not denying the knowledge you have but its the matter of understanding....... despite what the oil is ..... engine mechanicals wear with the passage of time, they can't last forever....... initially for latest engines it is recommended thinner oils as wear increases one should switch to higher viscosity as per OEM manual. Still when engine starts consuming oil despite the highest OEM recommended viscosity being used, then it means its time for Major Overhauling... way simple .......
Older engine with out dated Metallurgy and outdated mineral oils used to last merely 100000kms if we go back in 1980s / 1990s. Now these latest engines with latest metallurgy and latest developed oils are easily having engine life of 5 times greater and plus.
Sticking to OEM recommended viscosities ensure long engine life.... Simply stating lets say for 1KR-FE start with 0W-20,10W-30 gradually monitoring oil consumption but not to 10W-40...... The Arrow Bar of 0W-20 is same for high temps as that of 10W-30 except its better performance on low temperatures which is not required here so the temp withstanding capability is not compromised..... the indication to switch to higher viscosity is the oil consumption check at every say 5000 kms.....
