Engine oil for Toyota Corolla Altis Grande

Well I have a Civic 9th generation. Honda Classic (3S) always fill it with Honda fully synthetic oil 5W30. Civic and Corolla have similar engines. Why should the oil be so different ?

Poured 5w50 fully synthetic toyota taglon oil today and I must say, engine is way smoother and less noisy now. It will definitely give me better fuel consumption now. [emoji4]

Toyota love to fill their engines with dose of 20W50.

There is a lot of difference between 20w50 and 5w50 fully synthetic mate.

Wanted to ask that is 5w50 good for GLi A/T?? I think it will be give the engine a heavy feeling. Currently using 10w30 in my corolla and getting around 12-14km/l in city on my route. From 20k onwards i am thinking of using LM 5w30 or 5w40.

5W50 is too thick oil for a econobox sedan. Do you use it in track engine or what? You'll be wasting engine's energy and efficiency with 5W50. 5W30 is best suited for it. If i had a BMW M3 or M5 then i wont bother using something else than 5W50 or 5W60. In a corolla or civic 5W50 is useless.

Many people recommended that 5w50 is damn thick oil.
My car is giving better fuel consumption, less noise and running smooth on 5w50 as compare to 10w30.
I would rather say that you should consider the enviornment someone is driving in before recommendations. Fyi: oil companies filed suit on Ford when they said cars will give better fuel economy on 5w30 as compare to 20w50 they were using before.

The same corolla 1.8 is being filled with Toyota 0W20 GF5 from toyota dealerships. I guess its the same 1.8 engine in Pakistan too. This oil has VI of 216 which i guess is the highest. Excellent fuel economy and OE recommendation oil.

Fully synthetics are different then simple mineral oil.
They are less thick than mineral based oils and deliver better performance.

Morover i have had not good experience with using 5w30 in 1.8 grande the oil barely lasted 3k kms on harsh usage.

After pouring 5w40 fully synthetic oil didnt even sweat after driving continously on 170-180kmph for 2.5 hours.

You want to use that oil in Pakistani enviornment?
Bro, hot temperatures and so on. My car was telling outside temperature off 55 degree celcius when I was in a traffic jam on canal road in july. Using this oil in Pak will help you in overhauling engine at 100k kms

Bro, american enviornment traffic and temperatures are pretty different.
Me and @makhdoom123 used 10w30 toyota mineral and 5w30 liqui moly synthetic respectively, and we both faced many issues. I.e Engine was giving rattling sound at start, high rpm sound and vibrations, noisy and roary engine. We both have shifted to fully synthetic higher viscosities one and found that all the problems have disappeared. Your logic makes sense and it's 100% correct as well, but we have tested it in our cars and it didn't go well coz paki enviornment can't take it

Even Oil recommendations in US and Canada are not the same.
5w50 Taglon Is SN/CF fully synthetic.
Toyota indus is getting it from mobil 1 and its the same mobil1 5w50, but packing it by themselves to avoid import duty and selling it real cheap at 3000/4L so great oil in cheap price [emoji6]

Because M3 has a sport engine in it which needs a thick oil to overcome the stress, and if someone pours this in his Accord, Camry or Corolla he's totally wasting his engine's precious efficiency and his money.
