Dear AllAt the time of engine oil change it is always a big dilema which oil to go for. Actually this question should be which type of oil should we go for. Majority of the people opt 20w- 50 on the suggestion of there mechanic, which might not be the most suitable option for new cars due to its thickness.I have recently overhauled my 2007 suzuki cultus and i am stuck at same question which type of oil should i opt for my newly overhauled engine. As its first oil change is due. After overhauling mechanic suggested use 20w 50 to lube the engine well.Kindly suggest which type of engine oil would be best for my car and please educate.Thank you
Same suggested by mechanic after 2006 alto vxr overhaul. He said to use shell or toyota 20w50.
I agree with the mechanic, but open to suggestions.
change engine oil and oil filter.
use 10w-40 the best grade by shell helix, aisin, mobil 1 - be wise you are more educated then the tin box mechanic use this forum to educate yourself.
thank you for thr suggestion.why go for the 20w - 50
Thank you for the suggestion。i was also thinking of going with 10w - 40
I have read that "xxw" in xxw - xx stands for the tendency of oil to thin in winter. As w stands for winter not weightage. While the later "xx" stands for oil's tendency to thin in hot seasons.
But how to co relate all this to engine types.
the 1st two are cold engine temperature at which viscosity is at optimum / effective to penetrate the cavities, galleries and channels in a running engine, the last 2 digits are the viscosity
too much chemistry in a single sentence how do you co relate ? viscosity engine temperature to engine conditions.

ut the TriboTEX in my bike it has 162000 miles , I noticed the engine is running quieter as for mileage it's about the same , I've put 200 miles on it since adding it to the oil . We'll see what happens at 500 miles I'll start checking mileage at that point . Nano technology is going to change the way we live for the better .especially in the energy field .This TriboTEX is at the vanguard of this Nano technology and I believe in what you guys are doing , keep at it and I'm looking to see what you bring to the market next .www.tribotex.com
