Its clearly mentioned by the oil companies on their brochurs that new/latest standards already well covers the older standards. So despite knowing this clear message, if many of us would like to stick on the old standards, then it would be their own personal decision. New standard oils are always better than previous with regards of engine's protection, wear properties, better functionalities, friction modifiers, detergents, etc. etc.

The below mentioned quote is from API website: I hope it clarifies the confusion. Br,

Believe me or not. In Pakistan the limiting factor for oil life in diesel engines is "Sulphur." Pakistani diesel has one of the highest percentages of sulphur in the world. Our standard specifications for diesel are 1% where actual norm is about 0.5% depending upon the particular refinery from where the diesel is actually procured. So whether you are using mineral or synthetic and CD or CI engine oil change it after max 3000kms. Cheers,

It was quite a long time ago in Pakistan that I had some information gathering for the on road diesel fuels in Pakistan, it basically was split in two. (via PPL - I worked on their data networks as a vendor)

the road use diesel was indeed ULSD - being brought in from KSA or other countries - while the off road/rail use one was still the old diesel that we all know and had more than 1000 ppm sulphur, I believe there was a mandate of its colour too but that was dropped due to reasons unknown.

There was a big hullaballoo about this on TV too (Dawn news etc, not geo, ary etc who are namak mirchi club of Pakistan).

Being Pakistan - everything flies, off road mixed with on road diesel - YEP.. chaaloo kaam zindabad.

Cant confirm now tho.

And CJ is more towards emissions. A PKDM 2.0D does not have any sophisticated particulate filters or aftertreatments ystems in exhaust system to worry about. Company recommendation is CD and above. check owners manual to confirm.

And more importantly, Kixx Pao DX has chemical "Polyalphaolefine" which is latest than molybedinium di sulphate (used by LM).

Furthermore, Kixx has two oils with & without PAO.

As long as it is backward compatible. it is fine. Many new oils are not backward compatible.

Also, using synthetic in diesel can be risky considering age of vehicles roaming around. just some words of caution based on own experiences.

D4D on Vigo Champ is highy detuned to make it work here n our diesel. Imported ones are still suffering. Only success stories of Common rail engines came from SsangYong and Hyundai/Kia but they are so few, hardly anyone knows about them.

The trucks in KSA are usually American or European origin - they have particulate filters on them and high EGR usage - using high suphur fuel in them will cause them to fail within 15% of usable life. The HSD is surely made but then moved offshore for heavy duty purpose or heating oil purpose.

PAO is a oil base stock - MOS2 is an additive, get your facts straight first.
