Engine strange behavior

^^^go to a well reputed honda kabuli engine seller at your place,btw there is a one good shop at my place,i think new assembly wont cost more than 30k,just throw away the old one,bolt on the new one as it is.
take your mechanic along,otherwise there is no need of that aswel,sellers give written gurantee that engine is not opened,overhauled,will not eat oil and wil not give smoke.if any of such thing happens,they are supposed to take it back.usually this dsnt happens btw.

^^^g4hc epsilon's overhaul costs like 25-27k these days ''BUT'' i won't suggest you to go for an overhaul now,you have already played alot with this motor,say bye bye to it,get a kabuli assembly throw this one away,straightway bolt the new one and you'l be glad over your decesion.

i fully agree with immad....i myself spent lot of fortune on reviving an engine...wastage of money.... overhauling in Pakistan is a nightmare unless done by people like Xulfiqar etc....so i would second immad that u should go for engine swap....!!!

swaping the assembly is best option the tooling usualy done localy are wth no calculations

got it checked,guy is asking 44k for the assembly in which 2500is swap cost of the motor i liked from all he had.

good work immad.....u r well connected there...and am amazed u got 2nd hand santro engines in faisalabad...3 months back,just for the sake of curiousity i searched Rawalpindi's old engine market...almost every shop there...but cudnt find a single second hand santro engine at tht time....may be abhi available hon but at tht time i cudnt find em....
and i dont think 44k is overpriced...every single ruppee is justified if the seller is giving so many guarantees u mentioned earlier on (no smoke, no oil reduction no repaired etc etc)....i think its worth the bucks...!!!

fsd has a big market,afterall its the third largest city of pakistan.
yaaaarrrrrrr....i think he'l bargain more coz the quote they give is on safer side according to them(more margin),i think he'l give it at 38-40k.

what is the condition of the spark plugs?? are they crusted white? The problem maybe badly installed valve seals, I had to apply a dab of sealer to the valve seals in a santro engine because they were really loose and for sure would have leaked, It is also necessary to use a straw to install the seals otherwise they will tear up.

Other than that smoke can be caused by old oil in the exhaust which is now burning off, and if you installed new rings then expect the engine to consume oil for about 2000 kms till the time the rings bed in - only if your mechanic honed the cylinders on installing, if he installed them on a glazed/shiny cylinder - you will never have good compression or oil control. Also if the engine is running cold all the time then you will have excess fuel in the engine which will cause oil dilution and consumption too.

Sir I was thinking to send you the link of this thread in a PM.

Actually the motor has completed alomost 40,000 KMs after that work, and was all good. recently the problem has been started, now the engine is giving smoke when it stops on signals. compression is low even can not climb on a slight slope easily in first gear, I will check its compression but busy in some home matters.
