please note that the original rectangle shaped crank sensor on the nissan Q engines are junk, The updated replacement parts work - a bad sensor will throw a P0305 code and also a bunch of misfire codes too depending on what else is not working good - e.g. the MAF.

rule of thumb with repairing Nissan is to never use a "scrapyard" MAF sensor.

@star2 Today I went to electrician to calibrate the throttle body, there I came to know that the RPM is stable at 830 and doesnt need calibration.

One thing more suspicious come to know me that Nissan's this engine or ECU is not OBD2 but MOBD. Below is the picture of Autoboss scanner which scanned all the OBD2 protocols to match with QG18DE.

I had also purchased ELM327 v2.1 and v1.5 but none of them works with my engine as both are OBD2 protocols supported.

@star2 Onething more want to know that is it possible to get the ECU for M/T with this engine? As Autoboss detected that the ECU installed in my Car is from Nissan Wingroad and is for A/T. The serial/part number is below ...

Can I get the ECU for this engine with ETB and M/T ? Any idea on this.

jab game khela hai to poora khelo.. (btw Im speaking from experience) - Nissan ke naye models ka brand new MAF mill jata hai Pakistan mein, Munir motors call karo ya Gandhara Nissan waghera.

aur jahan tak rahee crank sensor wali kahani - aap kabariye se change karte rahiye sensor har din 5 waqt paabdandi se - wo nahi chalay ga jab tank naya steel shell sensor nahi use karenge.

You got the right ECU with your engine.

and now, as you mentioned above, RPM is different and throttle positioning is different. There is a tab under some menu on the scanner to calibrate the throttle, but i do not think this Autoboss scanner can do this. Find a good scanner, like Autel or G-scan I told you. or go to Nissan Gandhara Rawalpindi, they have Consult II, i used it once.

I dont quite believe Japanese nissans are running MOBD, its really old - what I think happened with autoboss is that it went into muxer mode and picked up whatever live bus line it could.

As star said - you need a deeper level scan tool to get into deeper levels of nissan PCM where you actually start to mess with stuff.

Ask your mechanic when he bought the updated keys for autoboss?

Its quite possible that the desi electrician couldn't wire up the DLC properly. If that's the case, no tool will ever work...

never bought updated keys, he might even not know it. anyways, its not the matter Zulfiqar bhai you know, Nissan supports very few generically very strong OEM type scanners..... or I maybe wrong.

But as per manual of that ECU it communicates on simple datalink and not on CAN. I am also surprised knowing this that 2005 series engine is running on MOBD instead of OBD2.

I am still in suspense about the auto-fans. When I wired up this engine once, I came across the ECU which was sending Temperature sensor signal to the CAN Bus controller and that was sending signal to Temperature gauge and also sending signal to Cooling Fan Relay 1 and 2. What ustadi malang ustaad has played here I am thinking from the moment you told me "FANS ARE AUTO"
