Engine Swap in Nissan Sunny 1991 (B13)

Got ELM v 1.5. None of Torque, NDS1, NDS2, NDS3 worked :S

Then searched some Russian forums, and found the application "hobDrive". Works like a charm @star2, @dani_kk, @FBB
@SER_GTR: Connected the OBD2 adapter and observed the coolant temperature. Fans turned on at 100C (exactly as per manual). Remained ON for 10-15 sec, and temp came down to 95 when they turned off (again exactly as per manual). The temp needle was at around 3/4 when temp was 100. Here are gauge positions with obd shown temp:

• 1/4th: 82C, the operating temp. It remains on this position almost always while driving
• 1/2: 90C
• 3/4th: 100C

Now a bit tricky part.

Have been living with heavy running car for some time. Fuel avg is around 11.5 in city with baba jee style driving.

Today following observations made:

Idle RPM was fluctuating between 550-650. Made adjustments to throttle screw, and now it fluctuates between 625 and 750.

STFT observations: It keeps on changing from 0 to -25% while RPM goes from 625 to 750. Then drops back to 0 with RPM back to 625 and same cycle repeats over and over again
@Xulfiqar Boss Vaccum leak or something else? (Oxygen sensor values fluctuate between 0.74-0.79

IACV engages in the morning cold start and remains engaged till engine is shut off and restarted. I guess IACV solenoid is working OK, it gets stuck at fully open position due to some reason.

P.S: Fault codes not retrieved as Cel connection to OBD2 is not proper. Will connect and retrieve tomorrow, IA

Also Make Sure To Always Use Coolant Not Plain Water Else It Will Be Boiling Inside At Around 100...

On main menu, it always stays at zero (main menu doesn't show fractional values). Haven't observed the detailed values so far.

@ser_gtr what can be symptoms of bad iacv or maf in nissan GA15DE? Car drops rpm when cold i.e less than 82C and it does missing occasionally. No CEL till now.

I never have connected cel with my port and only three wires are connected +12v and ground and kline but i hooked up a car man lite scanner and it showed me the codes + it showed me all live values.

In Laymens Term...Impurity Is Those Solids In Water Which Are Bad For Your Engine(They Deposit Inside Coolant System)...So That's Why Its Always Recommended To Use Distilled Water To be Mixed With Concentrate Coolant Rather Than TAP Water...

NDS2 shud work with your Nissan, hobDrive is seems like made just for fuel issues, where is Fault Code option in hobDrive?

NDS2 may need some settings in your case, check out its configuration. By default it works on ELM v1.5 wifi device, switch it to Bluetooth device and vice versa.

Yesterday I forgot to put the radiator cap back after checking the water level, on the way engine temp raised. Thanks to Allah, that I placed the Electronic Throttle Engine, agar wire driven hota to gaskit bachni nai thi.

Electronic Throttle ki waja se ECU ne Accel freeze kar dya and as I plug the ELM v1.5 and launched the NDS2 here was the output.

Error Code P1217 on Top.

NDS2 shud work with your Nissan, hobDrive is seems like made just for fuel issues, where is Fault Code option in hobDrive?

NDS2 may need some settings in your case, check out its configuration. By default it works on ELM v1.5 wifi device, switch it to Bluetooth device and vice versa.

HobDrive does have the option of Reading and clearing DTCs & warnings.

I downloaded the NDS2 with Bluetooth option. Checked all settings. It sees the adapter, but never connects to the ECU (And it repeatedly disconnects from the adapter, too)

Just differing from the usage of pure water only. I give this example to the people who basically don't understand the usage of coolant.
My dad use to argue with me so in layman term i used this example. And it's pretty much justified.
Adding impurity to a substance increases the boiling point and decreases the freezing point.

So in short my message behind all this simple and baby example was:

Don't Use water in your car!

Impurity doesn't means im throwing dust particles in my cooling system or mud.
Even adding salt to the water is adding impurity.
But in coolants
Organic compounds are used mainly as an impurity.
Pure water means it boils at 100 degrees and freezes at 0 degrees. So if the coolant tht has water+ethylene mixture doesn't freezes at 0 and doesn't boils at 100 definitely its an impure water. And how can u make a water impure? Additing impurity to it...

And on the other hand no one can debate with me on science
Im an alevel student have a pretty good know how about science and chemistry specifically. So your comment was directly targeting my verdict.
