I wish the post had asked us to list the countries where we have had the pleasure of driving a car but unfortunately it has not. I would have loved to read those intriguing shares by honorable senior members who have a long list up their sleeves (and rightly so!
).
People tend to overlook the fact that the world has millions and millions of drivers, but, and importantly, not everyone is a petrol-head. Many do it out of need rather than want and so we tend to find a variety of approaches towards learning and developing the skill of driving.
I was once traveling on an army truck and the driver hit another car on the road. The other driver was furious because it was totally the truck driver’s fault. After the road side escaped died down I inquired from the truck driver as to why he had screwed up and he simply replied, “ sir mai kiya karta, steering pakarta ya gear ko pakarata ya sheesha dekhta ya brake lagata…itnay saray kaam hain sir” … totally cracked up the whole platoon.
Point is people learn driving in their own way and it is totally understandable if some people find something difficult to execute compared to others who know it like the back of their hands. So if someone says they even find turning left difficult (while they were learning how to drive) in a RHD country then I would treat that on face value and not take a suo motu and banish them to passenger seat forever.
And I wish I had known the word “rad” … but.. and importantly ..I would never ask someone to stop writing a blogpost just because they can’t spell the word “bad”. Because I know they probably made a typing error and know it by heart.. or even if they didn't know it, still, I wouldn't ask them to not learn it.
And plagiarism is not cool..but we are allowed 20 %
.. (I wish I could boast about the list of citations I have on google scholar….but…sadly the post is not about that…
)
I would like to end it by apologizing unconditionally to anyone who got offended by my replies but let me assure you all that this is a general reply and not directed to someone personally. But I am sure I am able to illustrate that its ok to agree to disagree.
Good night everyone!
