The Ethiopians are calling it their First Car.. now matter how you dice it, its their first car, whether assemble or made, does not matter. We after 40+ years, still Don't Have a car of our own. Thats the bottom line, and that was the point of this article.
If look at the rows of nations, you have those that stand in line and continue to do the same thing over and over again, without improving. Amount of Time spent in that line does not matter, if you don't make any progress.
We are still standing in the same line, (i.e. of those countries that were learning to assemble cars), 40 years ago. But all those countries that stood in that line, have graduated to the next level and are now making their own cars, i.e. Malaysia, South Korea, India, Iran, China.
We the Proud Pakistanis, are still standing in that line, putting nuts and bolts IMPORTED from Japan, even after 40 years of assembling the same things over and over again. No improvement, no graduation to the next level. no enthusiasm, No effort... And now, the African countries are standing shoulder to shoulder, and probably will graduate to the next level, before our Beloved and Proud Nation will.. Or will it ever..????

Its not easy to just say, OK now I will throw off what happened to us in the Past. Like I said before, any self respecting Nation, learns from the Past.
You can forgive but you should NOT forget, as they say it here in US, so often. If you forget your history, its bound to repeat itself, and will catch you off guard.
Ask that to the Jews, Had they forgotten the Holocaust, no, but they have forgiven the Germans, yes and Israel has diplomatic relationships with Germans, but have they forgotten what Happened to their people in WWII?
Also, ask that to Bosnians... They probably had Forgotten what happened in the past, but Serbs did not.. and Serbs killed them most ruthlessly, eventhough Bosnian Muslims and Serbs lived same lifestyly, inter-married, had no apparent differences, but Serbs held all that grudge and being the nationals of the same country, they slaughtered the innocent Bosnian Muslims, for what may have happened in the past, in the times of the Turks.
