They need to hire/formulate a test-team that drives a variant around for a while and gets paid for doing an honest analysis of performance. Just make one of them buy an import 1.5T at retail cost. Tell him he will loose the money and the car if he can't find every possible flaw in 50,000kms. Tell him he gets to keep the car for free if he does a good job.
