European Adventures: Road trips + German Autobahn + Top Speeds & Accelerations

Going to share some of the road trips I've been on in Europe ever since I moved here back in 2016. While I was more focused on my master's in the first two years, I decided to explore more back in 2018, especially after discovering how well connected the road networks are here. All of the car's on this thread were weekend rentals (3-5 days) or leases ( 1 month ). I discovered that in some cases, the monthly lease was cheaper than 2-3 weekend rentals for the month and would decide to go with that. Also included will be the occasional acceleration and top speed videos

It all started with the humble Mazda CX-5 2.2L Skyactive Diesel. This was the first weekend rental from Sixt. Picked the car up from Maritim Hotel Koln to visit the 2019 New Years celebrations at the Hyatt hotel in Dusseldorf and then visit my best friends parents house in the Netherlands to have dinner with a few other friends during the vacations

For the first trip out of Germany, me and 2 of my friends decided to visit Rotterdam and The Hague. A Jordanian, an Albanian and a Pakistani make their way into Netherlands. First rental with Europcar ended up being a 2018 Audi A4 35tdi Avant. People in Germany love estates because of their practicality. For me, it wasn't since I always would prefer the limousine (saloon) type but boy o boy do I love estates now. More on that later.

We drove from Koln straight to Rotterdam. A quick search proved the best hotel to stay in at with crazy views of the Erasmus Bridge (The Swan) is the Nhow hotel Rotterdam.

The second part of the trip was heading down to The Hague. The third largest city after Amsterdam and Rotterdam, The Hague is also home to more than 200 international government organizations and an amazing beach running along the North Sea

2019 came up fast with all the studying being done. I had a plan to visit the Mercedes and Porsche Museums in Stuttgart for a while now and never really got around to doing so. It wasn't until a friend of mine suggested to go together since they already had been there a few years back and I saw this as another opportunity to hit the roads and take a break from living in Bonn. The plan was to first visit our mutual friends in Frankfurt (also my first time in the city), spend the night and leave early for Stuttgart the next morning. The vehicle of choice was an upgrade from a VW golf to a Mercedes C200. Pretty big jump, but all thanks to the very nice lady at Sixt who recognized me from my previous rental. This would mark the beginning of my rental upgrades from both Sixt and Europcar since I realized that joining their privilege clubs really can benefit you

The financial hub of Germany, Frankfurt. Entering the city, the most prominent building is the round blue Radisson Blu Hotel that looms over you closely followed by the tall skyscrapers that mostly cover up the center.

Picked up a E200 Estate for the trip to visit the famous Externsteine Rocks. I also made some videos of the acceleration of the car.
