i have got speeds upto 2.5 mbps on basic evo... just a matter of locations and time!

wingle comes for 7500 with 3 months paid usage, later u pay 2500 per month. I used n my car usb while driving on motorway and it worked f9. In city like lahore, Isllamabad and Murree it worked really well

you can check on ptcl's website they have mentioned area's where it will work on X1 and evdo areas

Sir ji. They are same. You will be able to get a decent speed only if there is a REV-B coverage in your area.
In simple words. PTCL i s making everyone ullu in the name of 3g. You live in Islamabad. Why don't you get a wired nayatel connection? I have it at my workplace it is awesome. If wireless is a compulsion, then go for wi-tribe 2mbps package.

where i'm living wired is not an option .. my requirement is a lots of download i,e bluray movies .. wi-tribe/wateen/quebee donot have download limits above 40-50gb .. the only option left is ptcl with 100gb per month .. if there is any other service offering more gbs in wireless pkg let me know

i've got this wingle device for a day to test here are the results so far :

-- signal strength while attached to my laptop (haven't tried other places in the house ) == 3 out of 5
-- speed test results = ping 125 - 150, download around 0.9 mb upload around 0.4 mb
-- torrent speed = fluctuating from 11kbps to 25 kbps (its a weekend so i guess it will increase around 50% later)
-- surfing is ok .. websites are opening in fair speed
-- streaming videos = no not exactly but not much of a delay either

so what do i do next .. try improving signals and test again ?
are there any secret settings to improve the torrent speed which is pathetic (torrent optimization has already been done)????

or this is it .. since this doesn't serve the purpose .. i need good speed for torrent download

EVO and EVO Nitro both suck!! The difference between them is that EVO runs on EV-DO Rev A (max speed 3.1 mbps) and EVO Nitro runs on EV-DO Rev B (max speed 9.3 mbps) but in reality they hardly go above 1 mbps!!! Stupid PTCL!! :S

and EVO Nitro Cloud is the same thing as EVO Nitro but this device can support upto 5 Wi Fi devices as well.

the speed and signal depend on your location. If you live in an area away from their transceiver, the signal will be low and speed will be low. But if you live close to it and get full signal but low speed that means the area has too any users...

so as a general rule you'll always get low speed in areas where land line internet is not available, this is because everyone in that area is obviously using wireless.

Use a Landline broadband. DO NOT go for wireless. I bought a wingle 2 days ago and download speed never reaches even 0.4 Mbps. It doesn't open pages and if it does, it says "web page not available" after some time. It goes on showing me those stupid "Oops", "try reloading" and "redirecting" messages all day long. Even my mobile service gives a better internet through bluetooth on my laptop than this. Depends on your location though, ask a representative to accompany you for service-check before you depart from your cash, inquire from neighbourhood about wingle's performance before you buy.

my wingle wifi works for about a minute and then the signal disappers.. the web page shows one device connected but no device is actually connected.

If 3g connection fails. Wifi turns off automatically.

how to activate the package?

i didnt get the usb from ptcl.. rather it was through another person who had bought a stock of the usb devices probably when ptcl launched the ramazan package.

after device installation within 6 hours i got the soft sms on modem that 1500rs had been debited to my account.

but the device still said connection failed.

i called ptcl 1218 they say package was not activated and my account did have 1500rs in it..

what to do?

i think your device is not activated. Get it activated or visit your nearest PTCL OSS
