Here's a random question: how does the Indian license plate numbering work? Is it by city like in Pakistan?

@ Bilal: License plates in India are by state, district, and then series, in that order.

For example: MH 01 AX 2100, where MH = Maharasthra (state), 01 = South Bombay, AX = series, and 2100 = the number.

Here's another example: MH 02 BQ 2100, where MH = Maharasthra (state), 02 = Bombay's western suburbs, BQ = series, and 2100 = the number.
