Heh, well @cr33d, the alternative is buying Toyota's Mongoose Cable [Chinese copy] and using it with Toyota Techstream software. The cost of cable is 2500 or such, I'd have to check again since I do not recall (I will send a link if you want). I actually recommend going to Toyota 3S... The reason I say is because even though one can look at a lot of data on Techstream, making sense of it all is going to make your head explode :P. If you are ready to do that then order yourself one, it should arrive within two-three weeks.
Check Engine light may be lit up because of a simple failed sensor or it could have been triggered by something more serious; again Toyota 3S will be able to make better sense of it all and do a proper diagnosis. I also say this because I think you mentioned once having had a little accident with your car so it may be related to that? Have you noticed anything out of the ordinary with the car?
Another option would be going to some place who might have the proper scan tools to check; it will cost you less than 2500 Rupees hopefully. I know of a place in Pakistan Town area who might have the scan tools so if you live anywhere near then you can try it. Let me know. Don't come from afar obviously as I am not 100% confirmed if they'll be able to check your issue or not.
Diagnostics is tricky... I currently got an O2 sensor that I suspect is faulty. There are no check engine lights BUT after checking its resistance, it is way beyond Toyota's normal specs but then why no CHECK-ENGINE light?
