FAW V2 Owner's Review

I searched this car on OLX* and... Seems like everyone wants to get rid
of it. Almost all V2s on OLX right now were purchased on installment a
few months ago and have only clocked about 5,000 or so kilometers, which
raise a few questions and even some concerns.

Most of those ADDS are just SPAM of XYZ lease companies. I experienced this when I was looking for FAW V2 and I contact on the provided number "hum lease/ loan provide krtae hai ".

If you just replace FAW V2 with Cultus (2018), you will get same results as well.

in short: OLX search isn't a good metric.

V2 has absolutely no comparison with WagonR (which is a box on wheels).

V2 is a car for owners who take interest in driving and enjoying their cars. For them resale doesn't matter as much as quality of drive, performance and value for money. Also, why V2 has bad resale? Is it because of faulty product or due to some critical issues? Simple answer is, none of that. It has a bad resale because of mindset of our people who do not want to try new things. Who still prefer buying National labeled kitchen blender (even if its made in Korangi by Abdul Shakoor) because National had proved it once to their forefathers that its a reliable brand.

We have lower resale for 1.3 hatchbacks and 1.8 sedans as compared to 1.0 hatchbacks and 1.3 sedans. Its typical thinking of people here as they consider every hatchback a "choti gari" and sedan a "bari gari", not knowing about specs, features and performance.

And to add further... Also by the mindset that 1.0 will always be more economical than 1.3, and 1.3 will always be more economical than 1.8!

Just in case of hatchbacks, 1.3L Vitz is more powerful than 1.0L Vitz, but the fuel economy is almost same (or even better for 1.3L). Similarly in case of Toyota Corolla Sedans, 1.6L (some even say 1.8L) is more balanced, powerful and fuel economical in comparison to 1.3L.

AoA guys plz advise where can we get seat covers for fawv2 in Rwp/ISD ..or any other models cover fit in for FAW V2 plz share..

U can get covers of Vitz or 2003-08 Corolla. They will fit. In Pindi/Isb, there are also people who will make covers for you right then, and sew them on. You can check those too.

I have visited FAW Sargodha on this weekend for tuning of my CAR, And It came to my knowledge that they pour 5w-20 Zic A+ for engine oil. I questioned them why are they not following others? and their response was that according to them Zic
A+(5w 20) better as compare to 15w 40 which is not in FAW manual .

FAW Sargodha workshop much better as compare to Lahore one in terms of facilities.

Hmmmm... Ok! That's good to know. But I am surprised to learn that they are pouring ZIC A+ 5w-20 in FAW V2.

Picture from the owners / user manual of FAW V2 is mentioned in post no. 4245 above (I guess), showing recommended engine oil grades for FAW V2. It can be seen that the best and most suitable, recommended engine oil Grade for FAW V2 Is 5w-30, which no FAW dealership is currently pouring, as per my knowledge.

Some are pouring 10w-40, some are using 15w-40.

FAW Sargodha is pouring 5w-20, which is not even a recommended oil grade for FAW V2, as per manual. And also according to them, 15w-40 is not there in the manual (although it's there and clearly mentioned in the manual as suitable oil grade for FAW V2).

Main to pareshaan sa ho Gaya hoon! k kaun sai hai aur kaun galat?

(anything)w-20 is too thin for FAW V2. Thinnest recommended by owner's manual is 5w-30

As per graph, again, the recommended oil grade covering all temperature ranges is 5w-30!

I sometimes wonder, why FAW does not make standard manuals?

Then, they are recommending 5w-40, which is nowhere mentioned in the chart???

It does not make any logic to me to use 5w-40 in Russia, and 5w-30 in Pakistan?

I would advise to stick to user manual for Pakistan, and use API SN, 5w-30, Fully Synthetic Engine oil.

API SL is an old spec . Min should be API SN . Manual might be old( 2010 ish type ) .

Total provide SN grade for 5W-30 (and for 10W-40 as well). It is also available easily everywhere, thats why using Total oils is good.
