I agree with you on the auto gear market. Unfortunately, the cheapest we get is the Cultus AGS, for people who don't want to buy used/JDMs, that is the only option. In the cities, automatic transmission has become a necessity, and hatchbacks are preferred, especially for city driving and for ladies/kids short trips. FAW is missing out on that. However, Al-haj might not be missing out on this trend, as they are looking to introduce Proton cars, which are also available with CVT. I have heard of Proton Saga being introduced within a year, which will be the least expensive CVT in Pakistan. If they place it between Cultus AGS and the Honda City, I think they can create a niche market similar to the V2. Who knows they might even become more successful than that.
