People who upgrade from Bike or public transport, Mehran is nothing but safety and luxury for them. They love mehran because they think it can be fixed by any mechanic under the tree and sub standard trash parts are almost as cheap as CD70.
My first car was suzuki fx and i drove it proudly because it was much cooler than having "no car". i bought mehran n thought it was an upgrade because it had AC and was a newer shape. Bought new alto because i was scared of vitz.
So yes FAW will have to gain trust. it will have to come up with a way to capture the market. KIA & Hyundai have done this by offering bonuses and like 0 mark up lease and extended warranties all around the world. they should come up with a plan for extended warranty in an additional 50k or something. Those who bought Geely are stuck with it. The company sold and left. If faw left, how will i procure a new headlight or specific body parts?
Why shouldnt i buy an older model city in this price range? i know the parts will be available till eternity or i can even get a good 2008 corolla. We know them to be very reliable. Both have boot space.
I drove city exis for 225k miles on original motor and i have a civic with 115k on odo that still runs on fully synthetic oil. The fact is toyota and honda motors are built to last a long long time.
The only way i would go for faw is if they offer something which is too good to refuse. A 15k/mo payment for 5 years and extended warranty........If they get people's attention this way, they might not need an offer to buy there next model after 5 years.
