I have not received such a notice yet, just checked IRIS portal to verify. It seems these notices are automated based on certain criteria. Where did you mention this income in previous returns? Under foreign income?

Shaheen Soomro: "I am retired person 70 years old returned to Pakistan in 2003 aged 51yeaes having worked abroad for 27 years to look after my elderly mother who sadly passed away I made some investment in national saving certificates and banks with money brought to the country through banking channels and have been living off these profits over the years and registered as Tax payer being as a good citizen withholding tax is deducted at source by these entities and paid to FBR since I don't have any other income can not off set the withholding tax deducted at 15% much higher than normal tax band .I religiously file my tax returns providing this information on my tax returns but still each quarter I get notices for advance tax I have replied to them each quarter informed them that withholding tax is paid by the entities to them monthly so there is no advance tax due but they still keep sending these notices .You can't win FBR"
Asim Raza: "It's Auto System of Fbr which is issuing notices to Taxpayers which are paying withholding Taxes without catagorising either they comes under Advance Tax or not? Just reply the same as you have written here that you are not coming under Jurisdiction of Advance Tax."
