Exactly, everyone wants to come here and make a living, and when people can't afford to live in brick and mortar houses/ apartments, they build shanties. This city is space-starved, and that's why we build vertically, which explains the lack of houses. Delhi is a complete 360 though. I love how every dissing Pakistani talks about Bombay's slums like there is zero poverty/ slums in Pakistan. This is yet another classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. Remember, this is South Asia's commercial capital, not only India's.

CASE IN POINT: dis is a forum for discussing automobile related stuff so kindly refrain from introducing nationalist and political issues..... dis is not da politicians u are addressing to but the masses in general..... cheers!!!

Manhattan, Hong Kong, Tokyo etc have a ton of houses, innit? :S Straight roads - pfff, that's so boring and north American. Bombay may not be the best planned city, but if you want to live here (not saying that you do), you're probably going to need to sell a couple of houses in Toronto or an entire street in Lahore/ Karachi (no offense) to buy a single apartment here.
