now that you have made your decision,
I would advise you not to over think,
the closer you look into this, the more small, silly things you will find to cause depression and irregular heart function 
Just stick to your decision,
you have had a CL, nice tight handling,
good performance,
you have had the 2.7 Surf, you've experienced the underpowered engine,
the X Trail is also not a bad car but the Escudo is far better,
and what I found very strange in the X-trail was that somehow the seat configuration and roofline were not harmonious with each other and in the drivers seat, my head (I am of a, average height 5'8.5" something like that) was too close to the roof,
additionally, the X-trail interior has a marginally lower build material quality, slightly lesser comfort and the interior feels small compared to the Escudo,
if you're really concerned about parts, install a good bull bar, rear bar and side steps, you'd be amazed at how much aggro this will save you.
As for the auction report,
the Japanese car auctions are a major revenue generator for the country and these cars are exported all over the world,
I have found that they are very accurate, infact anyone reading this buying an import from a local dealer should always ask for the auction report,
if the reports were shady, these auctioners would loose alot of custom and its in their best business interest to provide as accurate a report as possible,
they have no interest in whether the car is sold, nor for how much it is sold, they will recieve a commission irrespective and for auctioneers (non-exotic car auctioneers) this is a volumes game,
so I would recommend the reports as being trust worthy,
the car will pull better than your 2.7 surf, however dont expect to rob a bank and out race a chopper in this or any other SUV in this class.
Best of luck with the vehicle, if you have ordered it, forget about the negatives and look forward to enjoying it, dont over think, don't get influenced by negative opinions of our prepubescent friends who's attainment of automotive excellence is sticking a set of alloys on a Mehran and painting a racing stripe across its bonnet and roof,
this vehicle is a good choice, looks great Maashallah and should give u a good time while you have it.
