No I am not talking bout this perticular engine
The engine that I intend to go for is the older version not the MPFi one.
This perticular engine also appeared in the CJ5s of mid and late 70s
Its a carby. The three things that I am only concerned about(to make the engine reliable) are the Carburator, Fuel pump, and the ignition coil. These will have to be repalced/upgraded. I can get these things sourced from US as my brother is there but the estimate has come down to around $700:-#. And we all know that the AMC engines are thirsty. But one can live with that as far as the motor runs smooth.
Whats you take on that.

@HSumbul: Unless, you find something that is in pristine shape (literally impossible) I would not recommend going back to any older AMC engines because of parts availability and resultant reliability. Sourcing parts from the US is not worth it, as you will be throwing good money after bad. The only AMC engine I would recommend is the Wrangler/Cherokee 4.0L and there too one would have a hard time justifying the thing given cheap availability of some sexy Toyota models.

Bear in mind that you already have a modified set-up and your gear box would bolt straight onto something like the Surf 3400cc V6 which is available for around 100K.... other stuff to look into is obviously the 1KZT (diesel), a 3000cc JZ VVTI and obviously the 1UZ V8 which would all fit into the same price range!

Ooh this is good stuff indeed! Do let us know what was the difference after installation! I would assume that you would end up with a much firmer drive.

I will certainly let you know the change.
I am also getting impatient to get the parts in.
But I am a bit confused. Should I get the job done in Lahore or Pindi.

With due apology to _________ it was a mistake getting some work done from Lahore.

New Shackls on all four ends

Complete front axel replaced and both the axels serviced. Bearings and seals changed. Obviously fresh oil also replaced.

Farooq Awan was able to find a three spoke steering wheel in resonable condition and brand new ignition switch also intalled.

Nice ride. The front is looking really good and impressive. Do something to the back as well. Currently its back is not looking good, it is just similar to public transport jeeps being driven in Northern areas.

New radiator from a Toyota Landcruiser also intalled.

The rusted floors have been replaced.

Now the new engine and gear mounts are to be intalled. New brake lines aswell. The idea is to make the engine bay look neat.

Though my rig is starting to blow holes in my pocket now but I plan to get the nessassory stuff done.

Luckily the labour at Farooq Awan's workshop in not highly skilled so the charges are though a lil high but not exubarent.

If any one wants to get the job done well; Pindi city sadar road is the right place.

Sir its a locally fabricated bumper.
I got it fabricated by Janj of 4X4 engaged.
Well as far as the price goes it was a little less than wot the ARB or Warn had cost me from USA.
