bump up the iso to 1600 or 3200 if shooting at night and indoors and during outdoors at noon in direct sunlight, keep it 100. its just a tip to get u started....if the results are coming out dull. and use Av mode and increase it to f/3.5 or nearer for brighter results, shutter speed will change automatically..
In all its the combo of ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture for starting.....later white balance and metering etc come in..
