I think confidence was because of our previous trip there, and thankfully npp never sank by itself anywhere. Also, if you note, I did not spin my wheels at all, the first small tug, when it didn' help, I reversed immediately. The 2nd tug was done in 1st low, but it wasn't a big enough tug (still no wheel spinning), so I reversed a bit more for longer run-up and than chose the 2nd low for a bit more speed and than it came out. Also do agree the TLC seemed very light.

In 80 series days, the full time 4X4 did not have torsen or or limited slip in centre diff, only rear diff would have a limited slip. But than this is a heavily modified vehicle so it may have newer generation anti slip devices. Also my understanding is that torsen only works if vehicle moves slightly (both side wheels need to move a little bit) before it equalized torque for both sides, otherwise it doesn't. The rear seemed to be sunk equally, so rear limited slip or even a locked rear seems a possibility.
