My conversation with that company sales person conclude minimum they can sell me smallest scale set up for 4500$(as in showrooms type).But issue doesn't end there because spare parts are an issue.
Ideal is developing a big shelter like garage in a city using fiber glass then use this equipment there. This system is ideal for capital area or major cities where you can sell "fresh" fish.So idea is not bad but require the help of professionals who studied aquaculture or government initiative because one needs to first visit Hong kong and get training for this equipment.I really think its an excellent but has hurdles like travelling and money element too.I hope some marine aquaculture specialist can introduce it here.
Opening a branch of such company in Islamabad is also a good business provided you have space and time and can travel.It require minimum initial cost of 15,000$ to operate a showroom and there is good chance there will be very less buyer in first 2-5 years.

I was talking about indoor intensive RAS aquaculture. I got a quote from an european company for that system with 120MT/yr tilapia capacity.

I made calculations for an indoor completely flow through system with future possibility of turning it into complete RAS for the same breed and capacity.

Main problem is that you need to test it out on small scale initially, would cost app. 1-2million and about 8-12months for complete/reliable data. Then there's no reliable hatchery in market that can provide you with good quality seeds at reasonable price. You'll have to import which costs around rs.15-25/piece which is quite expensive and obvious exposure to exchange rate fluctuations. Cost of setting up a hatchery is not much but it takes time as well. So it's a good 1.5yrs or so with about rs.2-2.5 million of investment to test out a fully vertically integrated setup.

Rate of return is still decent but when it's Pakistan, you need a higher rate to compensate for risks associated with Pakistan being Pakistan.

So it all depends on the rent/price of land.

Ideal locations are areas near Gujar Khan and near Villages like sar,pamal which have good water table and not expensive.Alternative is aquaculture system, which has own challenges but inside fishery can be done in a basement in a city for which minimum finance is around 1 million rs(solar power panel powered).

solar is not really feasible.

for ~1cusec pump you need around 20kw or so...20kw solar panels are as you probably know quite expensive.

you could just rent a warehouse...it's not that expensive. you could probably get a 5000sqft one for maybe 100k/month or less...

problem with indoor is filtration mechanism, that's hard to do and complex...So you would rather have a flow through system, but then the cost of pumping water comes in.

A visit to the company show rooms is a must and a training for few days but looking at possibility of establishing it in Islamabad is feasible one knowing your farm is located indoor, you are next to the city where selling is easier.If system works out, one can go on to bigger scale.Lowest system is worth $4200.These systems are being used extensively in Kenya,Iraq and other countries.In India as of yet i don't see any aquaculture in use but i am sure Indians must be using it. In Africa , this is being used extensively.This technology has hurdles but then again every technology makes things easier.Looking at current land and water shortages, the indoor systems are not bad just like a warehouse where you store items.

equipment is complicated, the process is hard to control.

It's bio filtration that I'm talking of. Used in sewage treatment etc as well.

You break all the toxins in the water using bacteria which you control. But before that, you filter the water using the usual sand/gravel filters to filter out any solids. Then the water goes through UV to make sure nothing alive gets through into the bio filter. Then the bio filter does it's thing. Then the water goes through UV again, so no bacteria leaves the bio filter media. And you need to continuously monitor water quality and also make sure the bacteria is doing okay. Starting up the filer is also time consuming and complex. So controlling such a process is quite complicated, not impossible though, just really difficult.

Industrial land price is high. Prices in Rawat industrial area have increased a lot recently. It may cost you between 2-4 million per Kanal.

I want to start fish farm in Rawalpindi but I don't have land for farm making. I have all detail about the fish farming. actually I am draftsman in the cement plant. I have idea about fish farm making and management of it.

A fish farm covering about 100 kanals of water is available for lease. Located at village Bassali (first right turn after Rewat on islamabad-lahore GT road). About 40 minutes from islamabad/rawalpindi and 10 minutes from GT road turning. Eight ponds are also located around the farm as indicated in photo. To view on google earth, type "pakistan, bassali" in the google earth search tab and zoom in to the water body about 1.5km to north-east of village as shown in photo Following latest aquaculture techniques, the farm can produce about 50k fish in 6-8 months. Can be leased @ Rs 600,000 /anum for 2-3 years @ 10% / anum increment.
