Fouad bhai, i read your requirements up here.. it can be done that way as well.. but like Fahad said already, i'd recommend putting in a head unit.. what can be done, is that it can be concealed nicely.. tucked away somewhere out of sight.. and only an Ipod would be visible.. issue with Ipod is that operating it while driving can be dangerous.. you consider that.. and i'd INSIST now that its a proper show car.. it deserves an install that people would stop to look at.. further details, i'd rather discuss over phone.. since ideas everyone has after watching "P1mp my ride".. but who knows what may click you.. you may wanna keep that secret till its ready for display

To be honest though, this isn't a show car. It's going to be more of a daily-driver-ish thing...so I want it to be more user-friendly than audience-friendly. Waise bhi...when you're as ancient as I am, you want your music to be somewhat sedate rather than eardrum-piercing.

Instead of an iPod Touch, the solution might very well be an iPhone, instead...which connects via bluetooth, and can be propped on the dashboard, in a nifty-looking cradle. This would provide a GPS, an onboard telephone, and an entertainment system, all-in-one. You've seen a similar arrangement which I've made for my Pickup using an iPad. Putting in a "show-stopper" arrangement of speakers and subwoofers in the trunk might LOOK very nice...but I'm NOT going to stop at busy intersections, whip open the rear lid, and blare loud music. Somewhere in this thread, I mentioned this as my "midlife crisis car". Well...it has to act the part...of belonging to someone in the "midlife" range. I'd much rather the sound system be the 2ND invisible "Devil Inside"...like the 1UZ. Soooo...having laid out basic parameters, I leave the rest to your capable hands, and fervent imagination.

Installing hydraulics would be fairly pointless, given the state of our roads, the lack of knowledge of our technicians, and the absolute absence of such specialized parts in the local market. In such a lose-lose situation...why bother?

I'm having second thoughts about writing anything else on the body of the vehicle...so I MAY end up making a vanity plate for the car, instead. Like an Intel Logo...but with "Devil Inside" rather than "Intel Inside".

Today's Work Programme

1. Refining the lines, curves, and pinstripes with petrol and a cotton swab.
2. Blending the paint for an even finish, with petrol and a lint-free cloth.
3. A light hand-rub at spots, with some rubbing compound (Farcela).
4. A cleanover with cleaner wax (Turtle).
5. A layer of carnauba wax (Mothers).
6. A protective sheen of sealant / syn-wax (NXT).

Insha Allah, tomorrow we clear-coat this Devil!

Fouad that's a lovely outcome so far,
the pinstriping and better blending has come out a treat and made the flames really nice and crisp and the angel and devil are well proportioned and looking really nice,
really looking forward to the finished product once the clear coat is applied and it's all nice and shiny.

na.. by popping the trunk i meant occasionally on some gatherings, car shows etc.. but be that as it may.. a good display doesn't have to be ear piercing.. it can be soothing.. playing enigma.. floyd.. aerosmith.. good music.. but drop that.. got what you meant.. will work something out on those grounds.. catch ya on phone then.. Tc.. and all the best for today's work..

Let me clarify a little more.

I DO have plans for the trunk as well...and I AM likely to set up a woofer/subwoofer speaker box arrangement, at some point in time. First of all, though, I'd like to make some arrangements for mounting the spare wheel (maybe inside the trunk, or fitted outside, next to the bumper). After that, depending on the space available, we can look at turning this into a lid-popper!
