Oh yes, here we are.
As we all know that ever since this fake and real focal stuff has been on the horizon, the sole argument that the focal fanboys have been able to offer so far regarding the originality of their owned product is the registration of their product at the focal website and the PDF certificate offered by the site. Hmm, fair enough...BUT...is that a solid critereon to label a product genuine or fake??? Well usually that IS the case, i mean we presume that when we register a product at the manufacturer's website by putting in the product serial number and purchase date etc, If the product is legit and genuine , it will recive a confirmation of validity and will be registerd. And if the product being registered is fake or doesnt carrry the legit registration number, its registration will be declined by the website server and no confirmation or whatsoever will be offered. Right? What I say is correct na? Good. Now that we have established how registration etc works, Read on
Focal enusres its buyers the peace of mind that they bought original products by Meticulously and "asethetically" packing in a pretty little plastic card that looks like and is the size of a bank ATM card almost. In Addition to that focal engraves serial numbers on the magnets of most speakers and as well as prints the serial number on the box as well so that even the box can not be copied. Looks very impressive and convincing when a company dubbed as "most expensive brand in the world" takes so much headache and puts in so much effort to ensure counterfeits can be easily identified and avoided. Hmm... right na? Read on. This what the card and the magnet looks like

Hmmm.....very nice.
This is what focal America says on its site regarding the generation of serial numbers so that it is almost nearly impossible to replicate the process to generate a registration number that can be illegitimately registered on focal site:
Quote:
"[I]SERIAL NUMBERS
All Focal products have a serial number. It is the only way to truly verify its authenticity.
Counterfeit makers can mimic the cosmetics of an item but certainly not the technology nor the sequence of serial numbers on an item issued from the Focal factory. This number is not simply a random string of letters and digits but a specific code relating the history of the product, such as where and when it was made. In most cases counterfeiters simply use the same serial number over and over again and we have identified numerous counterfeit products ( and the dealers who sell them) simply by these products all exhibiting the same serial number.
Also, certain online retailers who are not Focal authorized retailers do sell Focal products with altered or removed serial numbers. They remove stickers from boxes and magnets and will even go as far as grinding all or part of the serial number off the back of the magnet.
The question is why? You have to ask yourself why would someone go through such trouble to hide the origin of the product he is trying to sell.
Again, these numbers are the code identifying the product?s origins and this is why we take this very seriously and so should you. This is also why responsible operators such as eBay and Amazon have strict policies about sellers attempting to sell products on their sites with defaced or altered serial numbers.
eBay?s Policy: Stolen property and property with removed serial numbers*policy
Regardless of where you purchase a Focal product, you, as the consumer, have the right to an authentic serial number on the product you purchase?
Finding your serial number is quite easy:
Utopia: on box, and engraved on the magnet.
K2 Power: on box, and engraved on the magnet.
Polyglass: on box, and engraved on the magnet or sticker on the side of the magnet.
Access, Access SG, Integration, Performance: on box, and on a sticker on the side of the magnet.
Amplifiers: on Box, and sticker on bottom.

SO, to recap, we have established some facts according to the data posted above that it is impossible to replicate a fake focal serial number and get it registered. Moving on to next post to keep the length of this post so that it doesnt become too lenghty.
