Well guys ..here´s an expert piece of advice to all the people involved with a G wagen or in other words a MB G class. The early models are called the 460 series and were no more than a pain in the - - - . Sorry for not using the bad word butt I guess that most of you would understand perfectly. Now I am not trying to disgrace the G wagen butt having been the owner of one of these for the last 20 years or so ... I happen to be a expert on the mechanics and body work of this rather difficult to mantain vehicle.
I bought it in 1986 and at the time it was only 3 years old butt the same story as above .. the 4x4 was not working and the same excuse that the shaft was missing ... the previous owner gave me the same excuse that the shaft was taken off because he never went 4 wheeling ... and that he would try to find it and deliver it to me ... which never happened till today after 20 years have passed. After a fewyearsI managed to obtaina second hand shaftfrom germany for Pak. Rs. 80,000/- ...
the freight and cutoms was the courtesy a friend ..butt the night mare started after I installed it ... the front diff. was not working at all so I had to remove it again and started on the project of finding a front diff. now this is a pretty heavy part and almost impossible to buy even in germany as most of the second hand G wagens have a faulty one and by the time they end up in a junk yard they usually have quite a few people looking for the same part.
The story on the front axle could take me years to explain and to make a long story short ... the dam thing does not work. This G wagen is not a MB at all .. infact it is produced at the steyr company by puch. Now puch is an old company producing small moped or in other words small bikes which never made any success. So the started producing parts for the GWagen and they were not too good at it. This Gwagen is an impressive piece of vehicle butt promise you it will turn your life around as you will turn and become an expert in spares and repairs of this vehicle. Our usual mechanics the so called ustads do not have a clue about this piece a machine. Their usual tricks of the trade do not work on it as its far to complicated than their reach.
I have a special mechanic only to help me with screwing the bolts on or off ... other than that I have to be there to tell him what to do. His name is Bila ustad near fire brigade .. go talk to him and he´ll let you in on the secrets to this vehicle. I have turned him into an expert on this G wagen.
I can name quite a few ... puppoo ustad from bara kahoo ... pappoo and younus ustad from churr ... naja ustad from bara kahoo and so many others have tried their expertise on the g-wagen with little success.
I consider my self to be an expert on the G wagen because I have spent my last 20 years of vacations trying fixing it and still its not the kind of 4x4 to be trusted upon.
Well guys if I had spend that amount of time on my studies I would have invented a new method of making an atom bomb thus being no less than Dr. Qadir.
