The comment "PAKISTAN'S AUTO INDUSTRY beind 20 years behind INDIA" was made by the popular Auto Magazine "OVERDRIVE INDIA" after it visited Pakistan during the first cricket friendship series in Pakistan.
It did not mean the imports available in Pakistan which I am sure are there in Pakistan.
It commented abt the AUTO INDUSTRY in Pakistan.

[1] The MARUTI SUZUKI 800 sold in INDIA has 100% parts made in INDIA wheareas the SUZUKI MEHRAN sold in PAKISTAN still has a high percentage of imported parts in it.
[2] HYUNDAI manufactures it's Latest SANTRO only INDIA with 100% parts manufactured here and Exports it to the rest of the world.
[3] MERCEDES BENZ, SKODA AUTO has assembly plants in INDIA
[4] GM, HONDA, MITSUBISHI, FORD manufacture cars in INDIA
[5] BENTLEY, MAYBACH, PORSCHE, BMW, AUDI have their showrooms in many major cities in INDIA.
[6] BMW, VOLKSWAGEN are going to set up assembly units in INDIA
APART FROM THAT, more important is the fact that the pride of INDIA are INDIA'S own companies like TATA and MAHINDRA which have developed 100% Indigenous cars which is not a small achievement and very few countries can do that. These INDIAN MADE cars have been very successful in INDIA. They are also exported to many countries worldwide.
Considering these facts INDIAN AUTO INDUSTRY is really years ahead of PAKISTAN who have started to take initial steps with the ADAM REVO but it still has a long distance cover before it can equall what the INDIAN AUTO INDUSTRY has done
