Very cool thread. These look like British Ford vans and i agree with the poster who said these vans look better than the Bolan type et alia. The inner city looks medieval and scary to me but thanks nevertheless for sharing these views.

Great man you got it ...Well the basic idea was generated from Sir Rehman post i was familiar with the tag line when i was only 10 ''Ford Janay Tay road Janay'' this tag line always attracts me and going to these hilly areas i always keep a good eye on these Fords that which one was made more good.You can see the post of Sir rehman also a great person i have ever met in my life .

One thing to Notice is that there is so much room in Engine Compartment. Today, manufacturers fill it up with all kind of Junk ECUs,DCUs....for what? Perhaps to save gas? or to charge extra...

OP's research is very accurate as majority of these Vans were Imported from UK after the Construction of Mangla Dam when a sizeable chunk of Population was forced to migrate due to submersion of their Lands & Houses. We brought 1 as well. Sadly, this is still ongoing due to the upraising project of MD.

When, I visited Pakistan in 2004 after long long time this all looked very Medieval to me aswell but after some regular visits...I could hardly find any fault....lol. But, where is the flaw...I am not answering it now :).

@OP keep posting this historical structures........as this is FordVirsa and museum will be most appropriate place for these in a few decades only.

Sir thank you so much for the compliments the history you shared is of great worth because am always looking for the more historical parts of it btw which i shared one that it costs less than the air ticket.
Thank you for notifying about the engine compartment space i never noticed this thing and yes manufacturer can install these ECUs and DCUs etc i think to make more fuel efficient then they are right now and somehow more luxuries.
I agree about the museum we can take the example of Morris Minor which used to rules the road till 1998 in Rawalpindi and they were cut after that.I wonder till when they will live.

I will be sharing pictures time by time.Now the most interesting thing i found on the rear and side door is mentioned in the pictures .
You might find some interesting things on these fords like funny signs but these are the tradition of Pakistan drivers can't live without it.

The interior of this blue ford was wrecked and the ford itself but fulfilling the need of transport. Wheel covers were somehow original in few and in some of them had Mercedes,Corolla,Suzuki wheel covers.
These transit vans are made in that locality they fix the body and enough parts are available with the workshop mechanics to make them still run on the road with a cheaper cost.

My Father's Friend owned one for his home use and he was telling me the otherday
that it took one full tank of petrol in those days to go from peshawar to multan
and there is a place in pindi near Novelty cinema where i saw body parts of these vans being made last year march
and with now i want one with a 2jzGTE under the hood

The crazy thing that happened when i reached the stand of these fords with my camera every single driver was curious to know if i am a media personnel.They ran towards me when i started snapping the fords picture and they requested me too snap there photo with there ford and the tag line which i remember was
''Lala Meri bhe Meri ford ka sath banao''
Some mix of hinko and pashto those curious people you can see them in the pictures even though they were calling there other drivers too for the snap with there Ford.

i seen once ford van hit betla and belta was a wreck and Transit had one fender bent these vans are hard as a tank

yeah Peshawar is full of them, they run on route#10.
