well for guys who dnt know how to difrenciate b/w soft n hard tires.... the soft tires has got a white strip in middle... that enables them to difrenciate b/w both...

waisey wat if Mclaren crew paint hard tires with a white strip n use ONLY hard tires for whole race lol!

They will be extremely slow off the start and also after every pitstop. I think at Silverstone which is a cooler circuit, soft tyres will be used extensively. Two stoppers will have a stint in the middle with hard tyres.

wat if it rains.... We have to see the performance of Bridgeston during rain this season... last year... they really sucked!!! Michelen wet tires were better!

i think that for rain, hard tires will be better.... wat do u think nightsurfer?

For rain, wet weather tyres are preferred. There are different types of wet weather tyres also. There is the intermediate option also. Wet weather tyres are softer than Soft dry weather tyres, that is why they can last for only a few laps on dry surface. Yes, we have seen drivers staying on with the dry weather tyres for longer periods in the rain. But that requires absolute 100% accuracy and machine like car control.

Since this year there is only one tyre supplier so it won't really matter whether the Bridgestones perform well or not. The important thing is which car do the bridgestones suit. We haven't seen a wet race yet this season, so can't tell.

Dude the wet tyres or snow tyres.. are not like the ususal slicks. as their main object is to give grip to the car and not overster.
Here is a pic of the wet weather tyre..

and rest ya know the dry tyres..

buddy softer tyres r suppose to be faster for shorter runs but since softer detoriate much quicker then the harder compound soo for longer runs teams usually adopt the harder ones!
