You're right of course but its frustrating watching these guys right now... its almost like watching the pakistani cricket team... they toil for ages and then suddenly come up with a series of dumbfounding wins... still frustrating though... i betcha we would not have felt this bad had kubica won the race or any other driver for that matter... the 'hype' just seems to rub us the wrong way...

...but today it was no doubt hamilton was driving to the limits.....his race was so smoth...and was very aggresive with massa....

Exactly! It was two against one last year, and one of those two, the outcast, Alonso is the one who helped by winning and finishing ahead of Hamilton. This year Heikki will pose no such problems while at Ferrari we have the 2007 situation. Despite being a very like able character, Massa has never been championship winning material for me. How he landed the Ferrari drive and extension in his contract we all know. Having Jean Todt`s son as your manager does help.
The anger , at least for me is not because Mclaren or Hamilton won but how Ferrari has literally conspired against themselves and lost races.
Forget about the established greats, and forget about half a dozen other drivers on the grid, but Trulli, even Jarno Trulli would not have given Hamilton the space that was provided by Massa.
The Ferrari of old, run by Italians only is slowly returning.

I said this in the previous race and I am saying this thing again in situation where Safety Car is deployed never call both drivers back otherwise it will be dangerous on far too many levels.Just imagine if Ferrari ask any of their drivers to hold on till the Safety Car called in and I think they could easily do it because they have about 12 to 14 laps fuel in both of their cars when Safety Car came out and after Safety Car gone in about 6 to 8 laps fuel they have to do some fast laps and then come in just at the right time when hamilton could also come in.

I just watched hamilton's overtake maneuver on massa on youtube and its left me baffled... i can't understand why an f1 racer would give up his inside line like that I mean obviously it wasnt deliberate on part of massa but then what was it?
Had hamilton gone wide then fine massa would have been valid blocking him off but that was a hair pin turn even if the other driver is going wide he isn't going to overtake the driver on the inside line unless he goes into the turn at a much higher speed and has an immaculate exit... and hamilton never moved to the outside he just stuck behind massa and all he had to do was move to the right as massa braked... this is going to be one of those weird things... did massa say anything about it in he post race press conference?

My point exactly! Its hard to understand what was going through Massas head when he did that. He needed to hold him up for a few laps more before the option tires on Hamilton`s car wore down. Dunno what the moron said in the press conference cause i switched off my TV before they got to the press conference but you can find it all here.

Ferrari is losing the plot. They obviously miss the influence of Ross Brawn on the pitwall calling the shots.

You are right. But, Ferrari is not the team that will allow the championship slip from its grasp. Guys at the top know how to be BOSS and in Ferrari a situation like Mclaren will not be a problem that is what I feel. We should see the situation in this way, we have double the chances of securing the driver's championship than any one else. Forget about the Constructors, it is already ours.

Agreed, it wasnt the best show of driving from Massa, but lets admit it, Mclaren was very superior this weekend. Even Alonso would not have been able to hold the Mclaren back with this difference of performance. Cheer up guys, you still have 2 good racers in your red cars, we will see them next time.

yeah you're right but its just that... well after watching the way the ferrari's have performed two weekends in a row its like watching your accountant say "4+4=9"... it just sits wrong you know... I mean last season they won but weren't convincing enough I mean it was awesome to watch such a close championship but to wtach them chuck it away like this in this years championship just sort of throws one off... no worries I'll be bleeding red and yellow next race weekend (figuratively of course) but till then I intend to be pretty upset with ferrari it'll help me get it out of my system... just looking for an ass kicking weekend from kimi thats all..

McLaren's steering wheel features four paddle levers rather than the usual two. The upper two are conventional gear-change paddles, one for upshifting, one for down. The lower two allow different engine torque settings to be chosen.

McLaren are considering introducing a radical-looking update to their car for the Hungarian Grand Prix after trying out their version of nose horn wings in testing at Jerez on Thursday.

Ferrari run shark fin cover at Jerez

Ferrari have become the latest Formula One team to test a shark fin engine cover, with Felipe Massa evaluating the new design on the final afternoon of this week's test at Jerez in Spain.

The Maranello-based team had hoped to try out the extended fin on Thursday, but in the end the team waited until this afternoon so as to conduct back-to-back runs with the old and new design over the course of the day.

Unconfirmed reports and let me repeat, unconfirmed reports doing the rounds in Britain right now suggest that the next four races are vital to Ferrari ( that is no rocket science) but what it being suggested is that they are vital for, Massa. If Ferrari, Raikkonen and Massa make a mockery of these races leading upto the Italian GP in mid September it could lead to, Alonso joining the Scuderia one year ahead of his expected arrival in a direct swap between Massa and Alonso. Massa will be " loaned" to Renault for one year before making a return to the team to partner Alonso for 2010 when Kimi is expected to leave.
I must say once again these are just wild rumours. They are from different news channels and their sports segments so take the news with a pinch of salt.

McLaren confirm Kovalainen for 2009

Heikki Kovalainen will remain alongside Lewis Hamilton at McLaren next year, his team confirmed to autosport.com in Hungary on Thursday.

The Finn joined the Woking-based at the start of this season and, although being quick in qualifying, bad luck has robbed him of several points-finishing positions.

Kovalainen hopes to end career at McLaren

Heikki Kovalainen says he would be happy to finish his career at McLaren after having his contract with the team confirmed for 2009.

watching massa's engine blow up in lap 3 was like getting kicked in the nether regions... I feel really sorry for him but ferrari need to get it together... after the way the race started massa deserved that win...
I thought it was cool that kovalainen won the race in the end (I would have preferrred raikonen but whatever) heiki was way over due as was glock. n fact Glock is my pick for the best driver in the race... he drove with the big boys and stuck it out... I am sure toyota are going to pose a challenge for bmw towards the end of the season...

It was gut-wrenching to watch Massas engine give up its ghost 3 laps from the end. He did a great job at the start and drove a lovely race. Deserved to win this GP probably more than any other in his career. Raikkonen must stop drinking a day or so before the GP because the affects of it seem to be wearing off only with a handful of laps to go and it`s too late by that time. He got very lucky today, first with Alonso, and then with Massa retiring from the race.

Massa`s retirement reminded me of a certain Michael Schumacher at the same track way back in 1995 , driving a Benetton-Renault, and he retired with a handful of laps but went on to win the drivers world title.

Glock, my driver of the day too. Initially i thought he was running light and would fall back but he did an awesome job.
