sorry bro, I don't mean what it turn out to be. I am only saying about the teams and drivers and not the fans because when you like someone you want them perfect don't accept less then perfect thats the human nature. As for what I am doing I think in the previous pages there is an article link posted which is about the Bernie's formula and if implemented on previous results what are the consequences. I am just using that thing with some differences.

If I have it right then Button was fourth fastest in testing today right behind Trulli while Heidfeld was the fastest trailed by Kimi. Thats not a bad showing for Brawn GP. As for Heidfeld... I wonder if he forgot his oath of mediocrity on the day.
Apparently Button has had to take a big pay cut to stay in F1... oh how fortunes changes.

Lefty is quite unpredictable, and (pulling) a fast( read premature) one will never be any good.

Ferrari look Mega in testing today. Over at Mclaren, their die hard fans believe Mclaren is so superior that they are sandbagging and will do so till the last test , and actually show their hand in Melbourne:^)
BMW is looking strong, Heidfeld is doing a race simulation today and putting in very consistent laps. Theres been some rain this morning which kept the teams inside for a while, but Raikkonen has already put in a fast lap in the 1 minute 20s.
Havent read anything about Gazza joining Brawn GP. They have been very fast , and Ross Brawn is quoted as saying that even Mercedes didn`t believe em when they told them about the fuel load they had on-board. Rubens is continuing today and running pretty much in the top 3-4 right now. The other theory is that Brawn GP is running light to do quick lap times and attract sponsors.

Looks like the test is giving some one a hard run for his money i.e. Adrian Sutil of Force India is ahead of Heiki Kovalinen by 0.187 sec.

LOL! what you posted the other day about Heikki, reminded me of good old DC. When he was at Mclaren that used to be his standard line at the start of every season, "this year is going to be my year".
Mclaren might actually be struggling contrary to what the fans would have you believe. Read somewhere on one of the F1 forums that they would need to get a new floor for the car, re-designed to have the new rear wing on it. Might not be true, but what if it is:-)

just to ask something about the past that is 20 years ago. The number of drivers were more for what reason and why in most cases there are some DNQ during qualifying.

What I have posted yesterday is certainly contradicting what is happening today at Barcelona.

There were a lot of teams back in those days. The grid was formed sometimes according to the maximum teams allowed per season, 13 teams meaning 26 cars or later by the 107% rule. To eliminate the slowest cars they would have "pre-qualifying" and DNPQ meant "did not pre-qualify"

The slowest cars were eliminated in a shoot out before qualifying, and the fastest 26 cars were allowed to take part in qualifying. Some tracks like Monaco did not allow even 26 cars to race for lack of facilities in the pitlane to accommodate so many teams.

Different rules at different times. These days one needs 50million dollars i think to get a spot on the grid if it`s a new team. I am not sure what would happen today if we ended up with more than 13 teams. Back in the good old days the rules were different, there were many small teams, and all were allowed to compete as long as they were fast enough. Hence the requirement for pre-qualifying.

Later on in the 90s the number of teams fell below 13, but there were teams who were too slow, like the forti ford etc ,and were nothing but mobile chicanes. Thats when the 107% rule was introduced to eliminate them.

Here is food for thought, and probably it doesn't fit the situation, but i just feel like putting in this quote from Woody Allen, “What if nothing exists and we're all in somebody's dream? Or what's worse, what if only that fat guy in the third row exists?”
So, looking at the testing times from today, Button is second quickest so far on a 1 minute 313 some two tenths slower than Massas Ferrari. So, it crossed my mind, and i know its a long shot, but what if Honda is not running light or under weight in order to attract sponsors and their speed is a true representation of their car. What if they having spent all of last year and having given up on the car early on in 08 , and concentrated on their09 car have got it right for a change?
Imagine what the suits at Honda, misled by people like beglar would feel!!

Once again thanks for the description about the rules of the past. As for your assumption about Brawn GP I think they have transmission provided by McLaren, correct me if I am wrong. And for the Honda guys I am sorry they have lost the nerves when they could show how capable they are.

Yeah, they have Mercedes transmission. Talking of Mclren, Mr Hamilton didn't sound very confident yesterday after receiving his MBE. The word is the Mclaren is having problems with it`s rear tires. The wing is making the tires work a lot, and they are losing big chunks of time after a few laps.

Perhaps the two best prepared teams are Ferrari and BMW. So confident that they wont be testing next week in Jerez. Thats what i read somewhere.

McLaren's race against time

As the Formula One teams work night and day to prepare their new cars for the start of the season in just over two weeks' time, the Mole hears that all is not going entirely to plan at McLaren.

On current pace, Lewis Hamilton's team appear to be behind not only their chief rivals Ferrari - who have been consistently quick all winter - but most of the midfield teams as well.

With the caveat that judging pace in testing is notoriously tricky, a study of the lap times in Barcelona this week suggests that Ferrari have a slight edge on Renault, who have a small advantage over an unsplittable group comprising BMW Sauber, the new Brawn, Red Bull and Toyota.

LOL... hey I dont lead people anywhere... I'm the guy who figures out what went wrong. As for Honda... yeah maybe they did get cold feet... perhaps Brawn did get it right. If anyone is capable of doing it its him.
What I find interesting is that up until the end of the 2k8 they must have had been designing the car with Honda gear in it and now at the beginning of the year they have had to switch over to mclaren gear... I just cant help but wonder if that has aided them in their testing performance. Maybe not... I don't know.

As for Hamilton... get ready to hear some very creative "its not me its the car" excuses... Ron Dennis may be heading out at the right time.
