I seriously hope there is nothing like a ban from race or races for Mclaren Give them a two-three race ban suspended for a year or something, fine them and deduct points from both the team and drivers, but ban them, no. Doing something like that would be catastrophic for the sport, and i don't want to go into details of who has done what in the past and gotten away with it because if i start, this thread might turn into those silly Honda vs Toyota threads on Pakwheels. There are many who have done the same and worse, but never been treated this way. Again, Max Mosely is trying to get back at Mclaren and Ron Dennis, for framing him with those prostitutes in a Chelsea basement.
In the good old days a driver after having won the race would slow down on his victory lap and try to pick his national flag if possible, and do the victory lap with it. That all changed when a gentleman, was caught exchanging his helmet with his pitcrew after the race in Brazil in the 90's, and turned out that the helmet he got from his crew weighed 5kg! Yes, 5kg to make up for running under weight. That is when all drivers were stopped from picking anything on their victory lap, like a flag, and also stopped from greeting their team unless they go into the weigh in area. This is just one of the many examples. Imagine a 5kg helmet, when you are pulling 4-5g in corners, your head would roll off your shoulders. I really dislike Mclaren and hate Hamilton. I am a fan of Fernando Alonso, so my dislike for both would be natural, but the punishment should fit the crime not more.

Sir, as always you raise very interesting questions. If Mclaren are banned, I guess FIA will issue a revised formula for qualifying, and it would be something along the lines that you suggested. I can't think of any other way they could go about qualifying.
As for sand-bagging stuff in winter, I can't seem to come up with a word for those who are under performing now. The only thing that comes to mind is not something i can post here:P
