Planetf1, the most unreliable website continues to ramble on about Schumacher's return to F1, and often cites Eddie Jordan as the source. Whilst it may or may not happen, some of the responses to the continuous reference to Eddie Jordan are quite funny. Here are some;

                                               I heard Jordan and Peter are getting back together. Sorry,wrong Jordan,wrong forum. In all honesty, who are Brawn after? If they wanted Button or Heidfield they would have signed them by now. Maybe Haugs "big surprise" is that they are going to run a one car team to really save some money.

Renault won't leave like Toyota, if they decide to pull out it will be more on the lines of what Honda did but they will remain in the sport as engine suppliers. Should that happen, quite unlikely, that would make Kubica a free agent.
Vettel will drive for Mercedes one day but not in the near future. He has a long term contract with Red Bull, a team which has a lot of money. Mercedes can't buy him from Red Bull for now.

LOL!! There are other who feel like me:D not only dislike Steve Slatter, but absolutely hate his guts. I have written a few times to them, knowing nothing was ever going to come off it but did so just to vent my feelings. Most of the guys on that forum are still not aware of " race central" where the great man sits during races to enlighten people with his pearls of wisdom. They forgot one of his other famous lines " the drama continues" :-#

Lauda: Schumacher return unlikely

Triple world champion Niki Lauda reckons there is no chance whatsoever that Michael Schumacher will make his rumoured comeback with Mercedes GP. Mercedes motorsport vice-president Norbert Haug has declined to dismiss the speculation that his team wants Schumacher as Nico Rosberg's team-mate in 2010.
The seven times world champion had intended to make a comeback with Ferrari last summer to deputise for the sidelined Felipe Massa, but a lingering neck injury from a motorcycle accident cancelled that plan.
Lauda, who returned to Formula 1 himself two and a half years after his initial retirement from the sport, said he understood why Schumacher had been interested in the Ferrari chance, but cannot envisage him wanting to make a full-time comeback.
"I don't believe that there is one single grain of truth in [the rumours], at least from all the signals that I get," Lauda told the official Formula 1 website.

The rumours around the possible return of Michael Schumacher to Formula 1 with Mercedes continue to swirl, but Ferrari remain calm and expect the seven times world champion to stay with them for the next three years as a consultant.

Interesting, Schumacher has not signed his much talked about contract with Ferrari yet. Still, i feel this is a big PR exercise by Mercedes, fueling speculation about Schumacher joining them for next season with Norbert Haug refusing to confirm or deny the rumors. It's taken a lot of attention from Mclaren and Button joining them for the time being. Guess, this is the most Schumacher can do to help Mercedes, after the Mclaren coup.

De la Rosa still seeking race drive

McLaren's reserve driver Pedro de la Rosa says he is doing everything he can to secure a racing seat in Formula 1 next season. The Spaniard has been linked with drives at the new Campos Meta and US F1 squads, although the first option seems less likely as team boss Adrian Campos admitted it was hard to find Spanish backers.
De la Rosa's chances at US F1 seemed to increase when the team confirmed it would have its European base at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain.
The 38-year-old says there's no rush to confirm his plans, but admits he's working hard to secure a racing seat.
"It's still early," the Spaniard was quoted as saying by the EFE news agency. "There's no hurry to make a decision. It's true that US F1 and Motorland reached a deal to have its European logistic base in Alcaniz. The important thing is that the project materialised.

Sauber linked with US investors
With the Qadbak buyout reportedly in tatters, another investor is set to step in and rescue the Sauber team, according to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport.

I hope its either Penske, Ganassi or Andretti Autosports(former Andretti Green Racing) because all these are IRL giants and also a famous name for American motorsports scenario so they will give F1 the much needed audience in American continent that they are trying to find for quite some time. I am also a bit confused that why either of them have not try to join the F1 Arena up until now. Volkswagen considering F1 engine supply

Volkswagen is seriously evaluating a move into Formula 1 as an engine supplier from 2012, when new power unit regulations due to be introduced could make the sport attractive enough for the German car maker to get involved.
Although F1 has been rocked by the withdrawal of three manufacturers in the last 12 months - with Honda, BMW and Toyota all quitting the sport - the Volkswagen Group believes that the sport is actually becoming more attractive with the way rules are heading.
The German car manufacturer's representative Hans-Joachim Stuck says his company would not be interested in becoming a partner with a team - as was rumoured several years ago when it was linked with a deal to buy into Red Bull Racing - but would be up for supplying engines.
However, Stuck has made it clear that the possibility to supply power units to a number of outfits, especially if there was a 'world engine', would be enough to attract Volkswagen into F1.

Analysis of F1 engine performance in 2009

There is a great piece of work on Auto Motor und Sport’s website with an analysis of the engines in this year’s world championship. The analysis is based on collating the information each engine builder has about each other.
I’ve checked it out with some of the F1 engineers and it seems that the data is a pretty accurate reflection of the numbers they are working with. The result is that Mercedes comes out top, with Toyota at the bottom.
Throughout the year one kept hearing stories about how much the Renault in the back of the Red Bull car was down on power compared to the Mercedes in the Brawn, Force India and the McLaren. In fact Renault were allowed to improve their engine quite a lot from 2008 to 2009 and it ended up not far off the performance of the Mercedes.

Americans have mostly stayed away from F1. Before the split, the PPG Indycar World Series was very competitive and in North America they considered it almost equal if not better than F1. Their market is so huge that they have never felt the need to look outside. The only place they would go outside the US and Canada was South America. The costs of F1 were always too high for them as well. The massive budgets never attracted them i feel, and F1 never really got a strong foot hold in the US. To have them interested in F1, there must be an American in F1, not just in F1 but successful in F1. What's more F1 must provide the kind of a) either competition they enjoy or b) the entertainment they get from NASCAR for example. F1 does neither of that and doesn't help it's cause with the kind of races we had at Indy, the two very famous ones and you know quite well who was responsible for that stuff.
F1 doesn't get the same coverage in North America, and it was even worse before the Speed channel arrived. Even now i think about four races every season are bought by other networks and not shown live. The races in general for them are somewhere around 8am EDT and if you go to PST then it's another three hours back. Pretty hard to watch races if you have to wake up at 7am or 4-5am unless you are a die hard fan or have some interest in it like having your countryman or something.

Roger Penske aka the captain tried his hand at F1 in early 60's but without success. He had opportunities in 80's and 90's with Marlboro's involvement with his team and Mclaren, but he didn't seem interested.
Off the names you have mentioned, Roger Penske could be the one but the guy is quite old and has seen a lot of success. Chip Ganassi would not be interested i think, he has teams in IRL and NASCAR, and NASCAR is the thing right now in terms of entertainment. Very basic but provide value for money. Andretti Green is quite a small team, though i have not followed them much so don't know where they are right now. The guy who could change if you ask me is Marco, Michael Andretti's son. Before him, Jeff Gordan would have been the ideal man to get and i think Williams tried but soon found out his salary was way beyond their means.

[U]Prost warns Raikkonen to stay focussed[/U]

Alain Prost has warned Kimi Raikkonen to think hard before taking a one-year break from Formula One.

The quadruple world champion said the Finn might have trouble convincing team bosses to employ him in 2011.

"He will try to go rallying, but he is a bit lazy, likes to party and drink a little," Prost told Europe 1 radio. "When you take a year off you have to be extremely serious about it, preparing physically and mentally."

The Frenchman, now 54, took a sabbatical in 1992 before returning in 1993 to win his final title with Williams.

He said Raikkonen has lots of fans but also some detractors within the F1 paddock. "He sometimes had difficulty working as a team.

"Some Ferrari people in particular didn't appreciate his remoteness from the engineers. He is a superb driver," said Prost.

"But it may be difficult for him to get the people who are half-way down the middle about him to trust him again in 2011."
