Huge gamble by Alonso and Ferrari, which paid off handsomely. Starting on options from the pitlane-they probably felt there was nothing to lose. Got the reward too early and a big thank you card will be going to Hulkenburg, maybe he crashed a lap or two early though.
Webber, a lovely race. Building a lead, seeing it evaporate time and again, but keeping him composure. Drove faultlessly. What might have been if the right Ferrari was up there we would never know. Vettel never seemed to be able to get close.
A lot of confusion about the end, Two different rules, one is- that allows for cars to start racing after the SC line-which keeps on being moved from circuit to circuit, depending on the layout and entry into the pitlane. It seems seems to have happened in China a few times this year. It's quite confusing, but the rule that will probably trump that, and had Schumacher a penalty is;
40) SAFETY CAR
40.14 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking.
As this was not a normal re-start, i.e. with laps to go and was the last lap, a penalty awaits Schumacher most probably but there are gray areas. This one could go on for sometime because both the rules in play are quite contradictory.
