Watched F1 for a few years now and this has to be the most pathetic state of affairs regarding tires. Pretty much everything is now being dictated by tires. Might come a time that no one will want to get into Q3, electing to save tires. It's okay to an extent but not so when it starts to affect races like its happening.
Rosberg penalty likely i would imagine. He must be taking classes from his team mate:P Might have gotten away with it once, but almost an action replay the second time. Anything from time being added, to grid drop for the next race, to exclusion from the race etc possible. We might be surprised and he may actually get away with it:S
Ferrari might get one too for unsafe release of Alonso in the path of Perez, but they may just get away with a reprimand.
Lotus/no name team showed their inexperience. Being a small team they thought like one, not prepared to roll the dice. Missed two chances to win the race. First allowing Raikkonen to sit behind Grosjean for 2-3 laps and then not pitting a lap before Vettel. Too scared about a repeat of China most probably. But congratulations to Kimi and Grosjean and to Paula and Eddie.
Strange season, had the next race been without a major test in between, Mclaren would blow everyone away in Spain. Their car surprisingly is far superior this year to Red Bull on tracks where aero dependency is at a premium. This being a track where mechanical grip was as vital Red Bull duly delivered the result expected off them. They have superior race pace anyway. Congratulations to all Red Bull fans and especially to Steve.
Mercedes back where they were. And Massa scored his first points of the season. His championship assault begins, everyone beware:D
@m_waqas
I think now you could understand why I was not counting McLaren as a threat, that is 4th pitstop blunder by them in 4th race of the season.
Don't dream of something which is not possible, Vettel was maintaining the pace and Kimi never has a chance to overtake him. Just look at the gap between the 2 at the end of the race.
I'm afraid you are wrong Steve. In an established team, Raikkonen would have won this race in this very car. Vettel was under pressure and really short on fuel. He was not maintaining any gap, it was more about how fast Raikkonen could go. In the end Kimi ran out of laps. Would grant you this, he, Vettel has to be one of the best front runners i have ever seen. He is as good as Massa is when leading a race, and that is a compliment not an insult because Massa is quite mega when he is leading a GP.
