The weather is pleasant although I was thinking of a thunderstorm but looks like we have to remain in sunny but pleasant weather.

In other news, Rossi has jumped the ship and he is now back on Japanese bike for next year as he signed for Yamaha for 2 years. So, now the big question is who will join Ducati is it Dovizioso or Crutchlow.

The bigger funny point is if you check any autosport link they are allowing community sharing like twitter, facebook and google+1, but they are not allowing the same thing on another community website like PW.

yes i m trying to figure that out myself. i hope Autosport doesn't lose its followers with such act. we have many examples of prominent publications deciding not to share 'their' news without payments and after that traffic on their sites gets reduced drastically. and eventually they have to give up their policy of keeping news to only who paid for it. Internet is such a huge place with hundreds may be thousands of people covering same news that if some news site decides to provide news only to who pays, people automatically moves to place where news is for free. anyway, to each his own. Autosport thinks its better for them, let them think and it may work out for them too. Meanwhile our world certainly doesn't end with Autosport.

What I found really annoying was they are saying that they are following us for years and they knows that we are doing it for years too, so why don't intervene earlier why now, the reason is simple they were lucky to caught me now with that post that they mentioned and then they check the 1 or 2 previous pages and found those premium contents posted by UK. If I act a bit stubborn they would ended defending themselves for wrong accusations.

On a sidenote, we have missed a chance of making Pakwheels famous world wide as bad publicity is the best publicity.

PS: btw, i was just thinking if we could get help of our beloved Paula and ask her to 'convince' Autosport i.e. their editors/decision makers to let us post news from their site? (H) ... i don't doubt her abilities to 'convince' but i think, Autosport will turn into something else and won't be of much use to us. may be it will turn into something Eddie would be interested in (i m of course referring to his 'education' and educational sites)

this reminds of a saying thats doing round these days.. goes something like "turns out schumacher is only fast in a fast car, rossi is only fast on a fast bike and neither know how to make them any faster." :S hahaha. well said.

Rossi back to Yamaha, don't know what to make of it. I thought he would end his career on a Ducati and never leave the team no matter what came his way. It's sad and what might happen next could be even worse, taking on Lorenzo in what is Lorenzo's team now. At least Stoner won't be around or will he:S Makes little business sense but what if Ducati broke bank and made Stoner change his mind? What if Stoner got a win or even a pole next season on the Ducati, where would that leave the Doctor and his legacy? Reminds me something Eddie Jordan said, and he doesn't say intelligent things very often, that "great men are nothing without great machines"

So, now the big question is who will join Ducati is it Dovizioso or Crutchlow.

I have watched a handful of races this season and from what i've seen it should be Crutchlow, Sometimes the machine can deceive and flatter the rider but he has looked mega in some races.

Some years back they had done the same thing. Everything was restricted. It didn't work because initially they opened part of their site saying it was for a month then extended it and it went on from there.

What i am interested in is how are they monitoring everyone and keeping a record of 50 stories. Is it through cookies, isp, what is it:S Those things don't apply to people in the land of Khapey. Our president is an artist and so are his people:-#

How on earth did you find anything there!! I doubt there could be anything that would help our Eddie with his education. Anything new he learns from now on will only be from Paula but Steve has been asking him for his email addy if you have not noticed. Hanif Bhai and company would not mind that, since this website generate business on the basis of hits by users, the more the hits per day the more the money it produced and that certainly makes them happy. But just imagine about the reputation of Autosport who is been visited by millions around the world are taking action against a website with only 200k plus members, I could assure you it will be humiliating for them.

Here is another example, many news papers in Pakistan have their own websites which have also pages for epaper, while the same newspapers are also available on newspaper stall around the whole country where you have to buy them by paying money. The e-paper's are available free of cost on the internet, if I post a news article from their e-paper on this forum and they call me for removal of it on the basis of its pay per view content, how could you justify it.

I think they are tracking IP addresses for the counting of 50 articles because in most of the world IP addresses are static and are assigned to users on permanent basis so they could easily track down any one with that. But may be that thing fails in Pakistan as in Pakistan IP addresses are not static if you are a cable net user but if you are using PTCL or some ISP then your IP can be static.

Interesting regarding autosport. I think one can refer to published articles as long as they are referenced properly but one can't reproduce content. Either way I'm interested in what mechanism they would use to enforce copyright infringement in Pakistan. Would cost them loads and result in a small fine in Pakistan for the offender as a worst case scenario. If they've known for years and were going to do anything about it they should have contacted the admins at pakwheels. Interesting that autosport read pakwheels. Maybe they were looking to buy a suzuki meh ran and stumbled on the posts:P

The best they could do was to ask the Chief Justice to take suo moto notice of the copyrights violations and then the Pakistani judiciary will take it over from there.

They have contacted the admins too and the message was not that much threatening like it was to me in the PM but may be because I am been contacted by the editor and they were by production manager. I hope Hanif Bhai don't mind that as they forwarded me that message through PM and I am going to post it here:

I think they are tracking IP addresses for the counting of 50 articles because in most of the world IP addresses are static and are assigned to users on permanent basis so they could easily track down any one with that. But may be that thing fails in Pakistan as in Pakistan IP addresses are not static if you are a cable net user but if you are using PTCL or some ISP then your IP can be static.

I use PTCL and i don't have a static IP. If the only way they are monitoring 50 stories per reader then not only readers from Khapey's land but from anywhere in the world will be accessing their website using a proxy. I am no genius but it seems quite easy to do that.

I also think of IP switching and all other options but then thought that they must have something to counter such things up their sleeves. The only way to check how this thing works is to click 51 links in one go if the on the 51 link they show some message then they are checking it using IP tracking otherwise it may all be just a bluff.
