SUZUKA, Japan -- Lewis Hamilton pipped Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas to pole position in Japan as Ferrari made yet another costly blunder, this time misjudging the weather conditions in Q3 and leaving Sebastian Vettel on the wrong tyres.
