Don't call those cars made of cornflakes because it implies the cars were made of some light and thin material which they were not as they were made of heavy metal sheets and have big engines. Also the use of heavy metal sheets was also one of the contributors of many racing fatalities.

These cars don't have high level of safety standards and that is a different thing to discuss, but they were not as mad as the drivers of 20's and 30's were.
