Formula One Fans disappointed at Michael Schumacher's retirement from the sport will have the chance to learn more about Germany's seven-time world champion with his autobiography set for release in November.

The book, simply entitled 'Michael Schumacher', will catalogue Schumacher's rise to the most successful driver in the history of the sport.

Author Sabine Kehm, a close friend, helps provide a glimpse into the much-guarded private life of the German renowned for his ruthless mentality.

Thank you my friend, for starting this thread and keeping us updated. The next season is going to be as exciting I am sure.

Post Schumacher era is going to start, no one can take his place that is fact but how F1 will shape up is still to be seen. I am speculating the start of a new rivalry, Kimi and Alonso alongwith the Massa, Button and Fisichella.

Former Lotus and Williams driver Alex Zanardi is set to return to the cockpit of a Formula 1 car next month for the first time since losing his legs in a traumatic Champ Car accident in 2001.

Real Madrid has reached an agreement with a top Formula 1 team to have a car compete in the Spanish football club’s colours next season.
“It’s with an important team – one that fights for victories – and it will be for at least one grand prix at Montmelo,” Calderon was quoted as saying by Marca.

( my guess it is mclaren , alonso is spanish so maybe mclaren and real madrid may join hands what do u guys think)

Massa warns Kimi to expect battle for no1 spot

Felipe Massa, winner of last Sunday's Brazilian Formula One Grand Prix, has warned Kimi Raikkonen to expect a battle for the number one driver's spot at Ferrari next season.

Finn Raikkonen will replace seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher, who retired at the weekend after finishing second to Renault's Fernando Alonso in the drivers' championship.

"Up until now I have helped my team by filling the holes, but things have changed," the 25-year-old Massa told the Gazzetta dello Sport's website on Tuesday. "Next year I don't think I will be obliged to let Kimi pass in front of me. He is a great driver, but he is joining a new team and it will be up to him to win them over. It will be a great battle, but a fair one.
"

Massa's victory on Sunday in his home city of Sao Paolo - the first by a Brazilian in their own Grand Prix since the late Ayrton Senna in 1993 - was his second career triumph after winning the Turkey Grand Prix earlier this season.

Raikkonen was runner-up in the drivers' championship in 2003 and 2005, but the 2006 season was a disappointing one for him and his McLaren Mercedes-Benz team. He finished fifth in the drivers' championship while McLaren were third in the constructors' championship.

McLaren design 2007 car for Alonso

McLaren has designed its 2007 car to suit Fernando Alonso's unique driving style.

The Spaniard's countryman, 2006 test and race driver Pedro de la Rosa, made the revelation in the Madrid based newspaper Marca.

"They have designed mostly the front suspension with Fernando in their minds," de la Rosa said.

25-year-old Alonso, F1's newly back to back World Champion for Renault, is noted for having one of the most distinctively aggressive driving styles - particularly on corner turn-in.

De la Rosa, who is hoping to occupy the full time seat alongside Alonso next year, also said Alonso 'uses the brakes very hard'.

Yes, thats true, the Dubai prince has gifted the great man an island that is a part of the "world" (a group of man made islands in Dubai that resembles the world map). I've heard that he is planning to may be build a Go cart circuit there.

May be in his autobiography he will reveal his post race life plans.

Schumacher gets new role at Ferrari

Retired world champion driver Michael Schumacher is to stay with Ferrari as assistant to new Chief Executive Officer Jean Todt, the Italian outfit announced at Monza on Sunday.

The 37-year-old Schumacher retired as a driver after piloting his Ferrari to fourth place in the Brazilian Grand Prix last Sunday. The German won a record seven world titles and was with Ferrari as driver from 1996 until he retired.

Todt earlier this week was named Ferrari's new CEO, moving up from the position of General Manager, which went to Amedeo Felisa.

"We are eager to utilise Michael's knowledge and expertise for our technical and strategic needs," Todt told a news conference attended by Schumacher and his co-driver of last season Felipe Massa.

"It will not be necessary for him to be at our factory nor at our test sessions and races, but he will be an important interface for the all the important decisions," he added.

Schumacher said that he would leave it until December before fully getting to grips with his new responsibilities.

"For the moment I just want to get away from things and turn my attentions to my new life. After that I will see what I can do for Ferrari," he added.

Todt to remain F1 boss for now

Newly promoted Ferrari CEO Jean Todt will remain in charge of the Maranello based Formula One team for the time being, Luca di Montezemolo clarified at Monza.

Amid speculation that the 60-year-old Frenchman had handed over the role of Team Principal to Stefano Domenicali, the Ferrari president told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "We will decide later on how long (Todt) will maintain this (F1) role.

"He is going to oversee the day-to-day activities of the factory and the races. Jean Todt will go to all of the Grand Prix," Montezemolo said.

"Stefano Domenicali will report to him.
"

The Ferrari president added that Todt, who became boss of the F1 team in 1993, might not hand over the job until the end of the 2007 season.

Ferrari rule out Brawn switch until 2008

Ross Brawn will not switch to another team at least until he has attended a mid-season meeting with Ferrari chiefs next year, according to Luca di Montezemolo.

The Ferrari President said at Monza that Briton Brawn, who has stepped down as Technical Director, decided to take a break because he is 'tired and stressed'.

Montezemolo told Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport: "He will meet with us half way through 2007 and in the meantime I can rule out that he goes to another team.
"

Additional speculation doubts that Brawn would resume Ferrari's technical directorship should he wish to return in 2008 and beyond. In that scenario, the 51-year-old might accept an offer elsewhere in pit lane.

Mario Almondo is his successor.

Schumacher's driving days over

Michael Schumacher turned down an offer to become a regular test driver for Ferrari in 2007 and beyond.

That was the revelation of the Italian team's chiefs Luca di Montezemolo and Jean Todt at Monza at the weekend, according to the sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Yes, I do not think that it is what Michael wants to do," Montezemolo, the Ferrari President, said.

"But if he should turn up at Fiorano tomorrow and want to do a dozen laps, we will of course reply to him 'why not?'."

Team Principal Todt added: "If Michael wants to test the car he is free to do it, but to this date he has not said that he wants to.
"

Todt insisted that one of Schumacher's responsibilities as a 'super-assistant' in the future will be his involvement in driver decisions, 'even though he will not be at the races'.

Montezemolo also hailed Schumacher for never hitting out at Ferrari, 'even when at Suzuka we left him with a smoking motor'.
