Michael Schumacher delivered the Ferrari mechanics some consolation on the second day of testing at Barcelona by setting a record-breaking pace on a day when his team-mate Luca Badoer comprehensively destroyed a 248 F1.
The Italian test driver – who was uninjured – went off a Turn 3, having completed just 29 laps in the morning, ripping off the right-hand side of his car.
Schumacher, on the other hand, was in a class of his own as he dipped below Jenson Button’s testing mark from earlier this year with a lap of 1m13.471s.
