While the wax is very durable, it is also slightly challenging to apply (than the regular waxes) and the key is to apply THIN THIN and THIN.. As thin as you possibly can. And not let it full dry.
- Keep car in cool shade and also the car is washed and cool to touch.
- Take a clean applicator with no prior wax in it and if you used any other wax with it then make sure its clean (can be cleaned by Lemon max).
- Damp the applicator.. Make sure its damp and NOT wet (no water drips). So perhaps wet your hands and sprinkle on the face of applicator, spread the water on surface and then hit the applicator on your wrist to excess water is released.
- Put your applicator on the face of wax and do a 2'o clock turn (with very light pressure) so that only very little wax is deposited on the applicator. Look at the pad and see a thin layer is transferred to the applicator pad.
- Make a few dabs of your applicator on the painted area few inches apart that you intend to cover and then start Applying the wax is circular motion (or straight lines) with very light downward pressure.
- Make sure what you apply is thin and an oily pattern in appearing at a slight tilted angle and keep monitoring that. As soon as the applicator isn't leaving the oily pattern, its time to load some wax again. But this time you only do a 1'o clock twist. The idea of these light twists is that applicator is lightly loaded with wax. Loading it heavy will deposit more wax to car body when applying and will be keep it thin on all areas.
- Do you fender first and then a door. Take a towel and come back to fender and remove. Then go to door and remove the wax. You dont have to let the wax dry fully on surface or it will be tough to remove. It has to be between oily and fully dry and you can determine that with the swipe of your finger to ensure it doesn't smear. But DO NOT LET IT DRY FULLY. When removing wax from the fender, see that it hasn't dried. If it did, you should move to a panel by panel model where you apply the wax to a panel (or half panels on the large ones), wait 30 secs and remove. It varies due to the temperature so develop a comfort level first on a single fender and then go around the body repeating the same.
TIP : - Use your fender as a test area to wax it thin, make three virtual sections in mind, notice time and after 2 minutes try to remove wax from 1st virtual section of the fender and see you can remove it (without it leaving an oily smear and without it being too hard). After another 1-2 minute, remove from the second virtual portion and after another 1-2 minute remove from the third. See which gave you the best removal results and set that time as your waiting time to remove the wax.
