Nops, I put 128GB MicroSD in Lumia and installed almost half windows store (heavily bloated the device) and it still ran ultra fast [emoji14].

I was able to multitask heavily, play and switch between two games simultaneously. It was a butter smooth experience overall!

A 1GB RAM budget Android phone cannot do what Lumia did!

I am indeed telling the truth, just use any entry level 1GB RAM android. Do some multitasking and you will know that your lumia is a blessing. Lumia 532, 535, 540, 640, 640XL run almost equally fast. Even 2-3 year old lumia phone is a lot faster than 1GB RAM androids. This is the speciality of Lumia devices and you cannot deny that!

I used high speed MicroSD card for optimum performance, as apps were installed on that. If you use ordinary slow MicroSD cards, performance will be sluggish.

Brother, it's called Software Optimization!

Android is a poorly optimized OS. While Lollipop has made some improvements in this regard, and according to Google it's 50% Smoother than Kitkat, it still lag behind Windows Phone and Apple iOS when it comes to optimization.

Another example, there's a reason why Windows 7 for PC runs smoother than Windows XP and Windows Vista and consumes less battery on Laptops! One word: Optimization!

That's the official price now. You will get even more cheaper than this price in market, as shopkeepers give discounts to get rid of them.

At that time, its official price was ~23000.

Btw, its camera and camera controls are very good, better than most Android Flagships. Its almost like a mini DSLR. Especially the rich capture + dynamic flash, shutter speed controls, manual focus from macro to infinity to create some depth of field (blurred background) in photos and other very useful camera features.

I've been using Windows phone for quite a while now. I started with good old Lumia 620 which never lagged or froze. Then I upgraded to mighty Lumia 1020 and i fell in love with it. No android device can be as smooth as windows phone. Their cameras are also very good. But last month my 1020 got stolen then I again started using my old 620, and it never bothers me. In fact I am still happy with it. Andorid fans can never understand how good WP is

Well, that didn't take long. After lots of silence regarding Project Astoria, Microsoft is killing it in favor of its shiny new Xamarin purchase. In case you'd forgotten (entirely understandable!), Astoria was the initiative that'd make porting Android apps to Windows 10 supposedly pretty easy. But with yesterday's announcement that Redmond had purchased Xamarin, a company whose sole mission is multiplatform apps, perhaps the news isn't entirely surprising considering the delay Astoria hit last November. In fact, the Windows Blog post mentions Xamarin explicitly several times, saying that developers can now use that toolset and a pretty big chunk of their existing C# code for cross-platform applications.

                                                                                                      The problem,  Microsoft says, was that based on feedback, having two "bridges" -- one  for iOS and another for Android -- was confusing for developers. "We  have carefully considered this feedback and decided that we would focus  our efforts on the Windows Bridge for iOS and make it the single Bridge  for bringing mobile code to all Windows 10 devices, including Xbox and  PCs," Microsoft's Kevin Gallo writes. Android developers? Focus on using  the iOS bridge and, yep, Xamarin.

The last hope for Windows phone survival, the windows 10 mobile, is said to be releasing finally after lots of anticipation, at 17th March, 2016 (Today).

Devices including the Lumia 1520, Lumia 930, Lumia 830, Lumia 735, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 638 and Lumia 535 are expected to begin receiving a the mobile operating system starting Thursday. Users will likely have check for the update manually , by accessing Settings > Update & security > Phone update and tapping Check for updates. However, Microsoft is expected to eventually initiate an over-the-air release.
