From CD17 to CD20 in NIssan Sunny B13

Tyre change is due in January again and i have already told him that i am not going anywehere with him
Noise is at par with toyota in idle noise. better sound on revs, as nissan always has.
parts prices are same as 1.7D

The engine is no doubt good...the swap very neat but whats awesome is the time they took....only 6 hours...thats great...he surely is a great mechanic.

Two cars had engines swapped in one day. The other one took 4-1/2 hours it was a B14 and CD20 wasto be replaced.

Working on twoc ars and finishing off in one day is just amazing, and its much like "Do it right first time"

Maximum i have seen in his shop is 4 cars at one time and all 4 went home with new engines at 9:30 pm

amazing.....man now i am in love with diesal......i am thinking of same swap in my lancer 94. at the moment its on genuine petrol engine 1300cc . its also very good engine. but heavy on feul.
what is your advise?

Good work Spectra.
CD-17 has a built in flaw, it catches too much of heat and seldom causes engine seizure.
Wow man, you got Tubo CD20.
how did u determine that this engine isnt worn out much.
Does he give any kinda guarantee??

I used CD17 myself for 5 years and my father in law is still using the same car with same engine without any problem or heat up.

Its colling system require bleeding everytime you open the radiator cap and thats prety much it but our learned mechanics decleared it as failure saying gaddi garam hundi hai

Spectra, i appreciate your knowledge about Diesel engines, speciallas Nissans'.
I would be too glad if you could highlight few most important things to do to avoid heating up engine.
I myself own Nissan 2.OD 2001 model, and my greatest fear is i may harm this beauty by over heating it.

So, am i expecting a post from you as to how can one keeo his engine away from heatups.
That would be very helpful indeed for all car owners.

CD20 also has a bleeding valve to get air out of the cooling system.

Tats the only thing to take care ff apart from regular maintenance and keeping the coolant level in place in the coolant reservoir.

can i have the cell number of this mechanic, as i have a 1988 B12 which currently have a CD17 Engine, but it is blown and car is out of use for last three or four years.
