Fully synthetic engine oils PSO vs Shell vs Total vs Caltex. which one and why?

Sir last evening I had a short visit to Toyota garden motors. They have one of biggest show rooms of Toyota in Lahore (Perhaps the biggest one). I asked their general manager that what oils comes in new Toyota cars like Corolla, Altis, Fortuner, etc.
Guess what, he didn't know it even. He took my contact number and said he will call me and tell this information. lol
Then he started marketing by saying that they have biggest stock of Toyota oils from Indus motors and also imported one from Japan. Etc. etc. and I guess he was just trying to cover himself from the question I asked.

that why I don't send my cars to the dealer....I get it done from the pump

you are absolutely right .. toyota dealerships rip people off .. like seriously minimum two times expensive than the local market and the oil that they give via petron SL not SN similarly for diesel the scenario is even worst they provide Dezon which is CF like seriously one's gonna pour the CF grade oil in new turbo charged diesel engines atleast it should've been CH grade for diesels..

People do get educated here. I am a noob when it comes to cars, but have learnt alot from you guys

Yar u guys wouldnt believe whenever i have top uped from the dealership they always over filled it with oil and i had to suck the over filled oil via machines at shell pumps

I want to know if anybody has used the MOBIL1 5w-50 howz its quality? Searching the interbet i found its tbe leading oil brand but the main question is that if quality available here is same as in the US?

2nzfe is 1300cc engines comes in vitz, belta, platz, porte and few others.
If your car is in one of them, then it?s the ideal oil (shell HX5, 10w-40) you are feeding it.

We had to get some body work done on our Alto .. saath men we also asked fr a wash n all. Wen we came back to collect our car, there were no seals on our doors, rubbing was done carelessly, nd engine pe oil maar k de diya :S

Sir apka wohi availability ka masla hoga. Haven't tried it though, bt yes i have heard gud reviews

actually i might go to islamabad for some work to saath my khareedta hua aonga but m confused whether to go for liquimoly or mobil1?

Mobil one is more expensive. I guess 19/20 hoga fark. Lets see if anyone here has used mobil one

Was using Shell Helix HX5 10-W40 in my 2008 Nissan Sunny 1.3 Auto. The car has covered 40000km's.

Yesterday, I switched to Shell Helix HX7 5-W30 (Recommended to me on the Nissan Forums by members). Was wondering what the experts thought here.

Put in 3.5L's and the rest is in the boot. Gonna let the car cool down before I check the oil level.

Got the oil for 2600 and the Nissan filter for 450. Hope that is the proper price and I didnt get ripped off.

5W-30 is fine in winters on an old engine. Switch back to 10W-40 after April 2016 rice is right for oil. 450 for Nissan filter is doubtful. It is 650+ for original one.

2015 is on toyota 5w50 oil and 2016 model on PSO carient 5w30. <br />
<br />
2015 gli is on 17k on odo and giving 12km/l in city approx <br />
<br />
2016 gli is 10k on odo and giving 13.5 km/l in city approx not less the 13 for sure <br />

<br />
<br />
Both are on 50 50 hobc and supper from same petrol station. <br />
<br />

<br />
5W30 car having more engine crisp sound in idle and while acceleration, lighter feel.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
surely will be converting other car too over pso carient 5w30 ..... cost effective , oil replacement is 5k with original toyota oil filter.<br />

5w50 grade is very thick oil for new car and also it is not recommended to use in cold weather...it is for extreme hot climate...better to switch to 5w30
