Platz earned a bad name owing to its first shape which was quite ugly. The next was still not like by many but at least much better. The reason for the variant's badluck was also our people's mentality of having a 1.0l sedan since they are used to hatchbacks such as the Alto and Cultus, not realizing that my 2002 Platz had dual airbags, ABS, five seat belt and a genuine digital metre to mention a few things whereas local vehicles still lack that.
Belta is much better looking and has more features to offer. There are some that come with eight airbags even. And at least on the roads of Islamabad, they are a common sight.
It was only last week when an uncle was taking delivery of his 1.6l GLi and was telling the salesman that despite charging around two million rupees, the top of the line Corolla had just one airbag and the cheaper ones, none. Platz was for less than a million and Belta 1.3l, around 1.4 mill. 1000cc is still cheaper. Your statement has thus truly baffled me.
