The star and crescent historically was a symbol of the Ottoman Empire. It later became associated with Islam in general. Now its popularity among Muslims makes it comparable to the Christian cross and the Star of David.

David is the prophet recognized by Quran. GEO did something stupid but dont mix it with Jews(as always). Some muslim states have stars on flags with more than FIVE points.

This was a mistake by an animator but whole of the production team was questioned afterwards for not cross checking this before air running a NEWS TV channel is not an easy task and these mistakes happen sometimes.

Try to think it in responsible and literate manner do not just go ahead and start saying whatever negative comes in your mind.

I am a part of this channel for 6 years even before it was launched and I am damn proud of it because this was the first channel in Pakistan to have spoken the truth and showed it to the nation. Being a part of this organization and a part of Media for last 14 years this is understood that these mistakes happen but INTEHA PASANDI kind of behavior always make and take it negatively.

I am a part of people who watch these sort of programs from media for last more then 14 years and never saw a mistake on a flag........ so dont just justify mistakes....On media there is no justification of this sort of mistakes.

Star and Cresent on Pakistani flag isnt an Islamic symbol but GEO's mistake is a matter of national concern.

yeah... GEO raised awareness among people like the pathetic-stone-age Hudood Ord.

Only GEO has managed to bring some +ve change in our society. Khuda Kay Liye is a good example.

But GEO sometimes gets very commercial in its policy to attract viewers.

@mian sahab you seem like a sensible person so why try to take this mistake to a negative point.

BBC/CNN/FOX blah blah ...... are old enough to take care of their mistakes but sometimes they do also GEO is only 5 years old people here in GEO are still in learning phase of many things coz the staff GEO hired were not from CNN/BBC or FOX they were the people from the running market here more then 4000 employees are working in overall GEO network any one of them can do somthing wrong which in result insults our channel and everyone working in it............ or is there anything personal with you.

Actually its not a mistake, I havnt seen such kind of mistake in any channel. Whatever you say but truth remains.

if you being here as a GEO spokesman then YES itz personal coz im a Pakistani and this sort of mistakes HURTS alot....

As being in IT from last more then 10 years i know one fact and that is animators mostly use already available libraries to make such animations for flags, country boundires, famous people etc.

i have nothing against GEO but you should admit that its a mistake. also we should not forget other efforts of GEO just because of this.

to exist in pakistani society, which can make something from hero to zero and vice versa in a minute is a difficult task.

@Haceeb exactly that is what I am trying to clearify here, I am not represneting GEO or anything I am saying this coz including myself many.....many have worked 24/7 through almost 2 years to make this channel a mark and cannot stand such words and hate against it.

everybody make mistakes, this has happend to GEO which is acutally a NEWS channel so one persons mistake is everybody's mistake.
