I miss go karting in Karachi. I simply love these things, they are sooo much fun to drive. Don't be fooled by the tiny looks a good kart can go pretty fast like 150kmph+.
The ones in pics look like the single engine ones which have no transmission, just throttle and brakes. We had the same ones in Karachi for general public. The fast ones were banned as anaris started hitting the walls and poles or eachother with them. I once saw the one that was used by the owner. It had a 175cc engine with a 6 speed tranny with shifting controls on the steering wheel. And man it was fast!! u had to be absolutely perfect with the lines to keep the kart from spinning or going ridiculously slow.Unfortunately the track has been closed for some reason and i have inquired several times about its re opening but no luck.
Those were great days when me and a few friends used to go there each and every weekend for a 32 lap run (around 30 minutes) for 800 bucks. On our way back we used to stop for karhai at one of those highway restaurants and discuss our performances by analysing the lap data sheet print out given to us after the run.
