Good and reasonable tailor and fabrics in karachi

What would be the price of good quality fabric for 2 piece suit?a shopkeeper has quoted me 2000/meter?is it reasonable?

Great Stitch (Cooperative Market, Saddar) = shirts and trousers stitching

Moosa Jee = fabrics

and

M. JALALDIN AND BROS (Saddar) = suits stitching

Bari Taylors are also good they are at same building in saddar where there is Siemens showroom. Time guaranteed for the ppl on short trips from abroad. Stitching is good too.

For suits visit Marks and Spencers at khadda market, though they are damn expansive, ie one jacket/coat cost around 20 to 25k, but you will have peace of mind for next 5 to 10 years, or if you have someone in Dubai get it from there its half the price.

for shirts - you need to visit Great Stitch in co-operative market, their cuts and tailoring is really good for shirts. They also started to make mens jacket suits but I cannot comment because I never used their service for suits

there was a tailor on Abdullah Haroon Rd (Victoria Rd) that holds a real old shop, The shop claims that it made suits for MA Jinnah himself. I have used their services a few times and they make really good stuff if you can afford the time they take.

Moosajee fabrics are good too but their tailors had lost their edge when I visited them.

btw - reason to have shirts tailored for me was that apparently being 6'5" and a bit heavyset is considered abnormal in Karachi and hence no stuff exists for purchase. - Same with shoes - size 14W (US) or 13(UK) is abnormal - young's footwear had my size though but in one or two designs and shades only.

Damn expensive. I had one suit from them, my in laws took me there and paid 30-32k with fabric, pure wool count no: 110 a year back. I personally inquired Raymond and the quoted same for count 110 fabric. There is a shop inside the market, infront of co-operative market. An educated man Yahya deals there in great fabric.

Manzoor Sons on Dundas St in Saddar might be the one they meant? They make a great suit, like Ambassador, if you know what to ask for. Not the typical stuff people buy here thinking they've bought a 'good' suit just because it's supposed to be some 'Italian' fabric or has a brand label.

Took me a long time to find good tailoring here and the two I've mentioned are very good. But you have to know your stuff before going to them as well, otherwise they will try to do what everyone here tries to do - sell you something you don't really need. A good suit should last a long time and make you look - and feel - great.

A partially cupro (Bemberg) lined suit with a full floating canvas in 2 pieces > Ambassador will charge about 22000/- for stitching alone on that....with good, breathable and lightweight tropical wool the whole thing would run anywhere about 60k to 80k

If you're buying or getting tailored a fused suit, instead of a full or partial canvassed one, then don't bother....fused suits (doesn't matter if it's Armani labeled or Marks & Spencer or tailored) are a waste of money.

My mind is a bit like a messed up library, the name of the shop maybe manzoor - I can walk to it easily on AH Road, they still had the old thick wooden showcases inside.

But thank heavens someone actually sees suits like the way you wrote. Last I posted that I was called "silly" and "insane"
